UNICEF Pakistan is looking for a qualified incumbent who shall provide effective and efficient support to the Advocacy and Communication Section.

  •  Provide administrative and logistic support in planning and organization of special events, workshops, seminars, press conferences and exhibits.
  • Arrange translation of publications; writing and editing of press articles and designing of information materials and publications. Translate key press pieces.
  • Contact, under instructions, and follows up with resource persons, contractors, consultants and production teams for production of broadcasting materials, video films and sound-slide sets; keep track of materials/equipment loaned out to ensure their safe and timely return.
  • Maintain inventory of all printed materials; assess reprinting needs of advocacy/communication materials and arrange its reprinting. Follow up with Supply Section for release of purchase orders for printing of materials. Maintain digital photo database. Update website with material developed by UNICEF staff.
  • Manage and update section data base of contacts of the Government counterparts, donor, Diplomatic Corps, UN/NGO, and media communities, for use in networking and materials distribution. Take the initiative when it comes to distributing Communication materials to different audiences.
  • Assist in initial negotiations on availability of freelance contractors, contractual terms and delivery dates; and follow up the assigned jobs. Draft SSAs/contracts upon instructions; scrutinize invoices and raise payment requests. In PROMS add activities/tasks in the system; add inputs and raise requisitions. Brief counterparts on UNICEF rules/procedures for release of funds.
  • Keep updated list of names and addresses of key translators, writers and freelance photographers, designers, cameramen, artists, calligraphers and producers. Maintain list of events; arrange logistics for visitors/missions; arrange permits for media teams.
  • Keep custody of Section's audio-visual supplies/stocks including advocacy and communication material. Arrange distribution of Advocacy and Communication materials and maintain mailing lists. Maintain an inventory list including value and location of all the Section's stock.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have a…..

  • Completed secondary education, preferably supplemented by technical or university courses in the field of Information & Communication.
  •  Six years progressively responsible Information & Communication work, of which at least one year was closely related to support the work of the organization.

  • Fluency in spoken and written English and Urdu.
