Onboarding Assistant

The Green Climate Fund (“GCF”) is a new multilateral fund created to make a significant andambitious contribution to the global efforts towards attaining the goals set by the international community to combat climate change.

GCF will contribute to the achievement of the ultimate objective of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). In the context of sustainable development, GCF willpromote the paradigm shift towards low-emission and climate-resilient development pathways by providing support to developing countries to limit or reduce their greenhouse gas emissions and to adapt to the impacts of climate change, taking into account the needs of those developing countries particularly vulnerable to the adverse effects of climate change.

GCFis governed by aBoard, composed of an equal representation of developed and developingcountries. The Fund is operated by an independent Secretariat headed by an Executive Director. GCF will pursue a country-driven approach in its operations.

The Fund seeks to recruit an Onboarding Assistant to join its team at its headquarters in Songdo, Republic of Korea, for a period of 6 months.

Role

UnderthesupervisionoftheRecruitmentSpecialistandoverallguidanceof theHeadofHumanResources, the Onboarding Assistant will be in-charge of coordinating between new staff and the relevant Divisions within the Fund to ensure successful and seamless onboarding of new staff.

Dutiesand responsibilities

The Onboarding Consultant will be responsible forbutnot limited to:

  • Coordinate between potential and new staff member and other stakeholders within the Fund such as Facility, Protocol, HR, and the hiring division;
  • Ensure that all personnel documentation is received such as health certificates, diplomas, insurance registration, personal information form, etc;
  • Coordinate with Protocol to ensure visa to enter Korea is received in a timely manner;
  • Provide necessary information and answer new staff members’ questions regarding housing, relocation, etc;
  • Coordinate onboarding with the hiring division; ensure that new staff members’ office space and IT equipment are ready and that the hiring division is informed of any changes with the new staff member’s starting date;
  • Coordinate with the Fund’s medical referee to ensure health checks are provided prior to new Staff’s start date; ensure that staff receives medical reimbursement as it relates to medical check- up costs;
  • Coordinate with Incheon City Representative on the Staff’s benefits from Incheon City Government;
  • Assist the new staff member with opening a bank account, getting shipping and installation allowance, etc;
  • Provide advice on any other matter relevant to a new staff members’ onboarding; Maintain new hire records and provide any reports as needed;
  • Facilitate new staff members and their family’s introduction to the GCF Family Working Group;
  • Any other tasks that may be required by the Head of HR.

Required experience and qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, with three (3) years of relevant experience;
  • Experience in administrative, operational services, and/or relevant work is desirable;
  • Abilitytodealwithlargevolumesofworkundertimepressurewithahighlevelofaccuracyindetails;
  • Ability to organize her/his work, set priorities, meet critical deadlines, and followup on assignments with minimum direction;
  • Strongteamworkandinterpersonalskills,andhighlydevelopedculturalsensitivityincommunicating with all levels of staff and external clients, both orally and in writing;
  • Good knowledge of office technology such as MS office package, and experience in working with databases is highly desirable; and
  • Fluency in English and Korean is essential; knowledge of another United Nations language is an advantage.
