Purpose of the Position:

In collaboration with national counterparts, UNICEF Programme Section and under the guidance and supervision of the Supply/Logistics Officer, to Support the warehouse operation in Baghdad, Iraq. Carries out the receiving, storage, packing and loading.

 Expected Results:

  •  Review, plans and coordinates the packing flow of deliveries in items of priority and delivery date. Carry out the receiving of shipments into the warehouse including quality control of palletization, packing and labelling of incoming shipments.
  • Responsible for the release and scheduling of production orders and the subsequent packing of UNICEF kits in accordance with the master plan prepared by the plan & source team.
  • Optimizes the usage of the capacity and resources available and ensures that the packing and loading of orders run efficiently and timely.
  • Process the packing requests from the warehouse. Ensures the labelling, stacking and palletization of the packed boxes in line with good practices. Draft weekly stocks and logistics movement reports.
  • Takes care of warehouse management in VISION, ensuring the system is continuously updated to reflect the actual situation.
  • Ensure that GDP procedures and processes and being strictly followed in the area of responsibility.
  • Manages the packing materials and consumables for warehouse operations and the inventory hereof.
  • Responsible for coordinating the maintenance and repair of warehouse equipment with the warehouse Officer according to the procedures in place.
  • Participate in the investment plans for the warehouse in connection with the budget preparation.
  • Actively participate in the warehouse operations: receiving, warehousing, packing, loading.
  • Any other duties as requested by the supervisor.

Qualifications of Successful Candidate:

EDUCATION (Indicate type of education/training required including skills in equipment operation.) 

Completion of secondary education or equivalent in purchasing and supplies, cleaning and forwarding, and warehouse management

Good computer skills in SAP related modules and the TEKRF system

Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other job related software.

WORK EXPERIENCE (Indicate the length and type of practical experience required.)                                                                      

Maximum six years of progressive responsibility for, technical or administrative work with specialized experience in logistics related matters.

 LANGUAGES (Indicate the languages required and desirable.)

Good oral and written knowledge of English and local language. Knowledge of another UN languages is an asset.

OTHER SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES (Indicate what other skills and attributes required, such as drafting ability, organizational or analytical skills.) 

Drafting and organizational abilities and skills. Ability to operate various kinds of office equipment/machines including computer equipment.
