The IAEA is the world's centre of cooperation in the nuclear field. It was set up as the world's "Atoms for Peace" organization in 1957 within the United Nations family. The Agency works with its Member States and multiple partners worldwide to promote safe, secure and peaceful nuclear technologies. The IAEA Secretariat, a team of 2300 multi-disciplinary professional and support staff from more than 100 countries, is headquartered at the Vienna International Centre in Vienna, Austria.

Main Purpose


In order to provide qualified candidates to IAEA Departments for multiple positions, the Division of Human Resources keeps a roster of interested applicants. Qualified professionals and experts worldwide who are available for short-term and/or temporary assignments are encouraged to register and create their profiles.  If you are interested in working at the IAEA and fulfil the requirements to work within the HUMAN HEALTH Job Family, which includes RADIATION MEDICINE (Radiation Oncology, Nuclear Medicine, Diagnostic Imaging, Medical Radiation Physics) AND NUTRITION  or in any of the supporting fields listed below, please complete an online application.
 
Registration into the Pipeline does not constitute in any form a commitment on the part of the IAEA for taking a particular application into consideration in the recruitment process for any vacancy. Pipeline registration is only valid for 2 years. Candidates need to re-register again after two years of initial date of registration to be considered as an active pipeline applicant.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Candidate Eligibility


 

Reporting to a Section Head or Director, Radiation Medicine (Radiation Oncology, Nuclear Medicine, Diagnostic Imaging, Medical Radiation Physics) and Nutrition professionals are recognized specialists or authorities in one or more of the following specialities as well as experts fulfilling support functions (list includes, but is not is limited to)\:
  • Radiation oncology
  • Radiation biology
  • Medical physics in radiation oncology, diagnostic radiology and nuclear medicine
  • Radiation physics
  • Dosimetry
  • Secondary Standards Dosimetry
  • Nuclear medicine (Physicians, Technologists)
  • Radiology (Physicians, Radiographers)
  • Radiation therapy technology
  • Molecular biology
  • Radiochemistry
  • Radiopharmacy
  • Nutrition science
  • Public Health nutrition
  • Quality management
  • Project management
  • Database management
  • Training coordination
  • Biostatistics

Education, Experience and Language Skills

  • University degree or Advanced University Degree in RADIATION MEDICINE (Radiation Oncology, Nuclear Medicine, Radiology, Medical Radiation Physics), Nutrition or related, field.

  • Additional two to three year's specialized clinical training might be required for some vacancies.

  • Professional experience should be of 2 years for junior level, 5 years for intermediate level, and 10 years for senior professional level in one or more of the above mentioned areas of fields.
  • Relevant professional experience at the national, regional and/or international level.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with people of different national and cultural backgrounds with sensitivity and respect for diversity.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English. Knowledge of another official language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) an asset.
