The incumbent of this post will assist the Facilities Management Coordinator as well as the Chief, Facilities Management Services in monitoring and administration of all IT applications including service ticketing system, security access control technology and other applications. This role supports the services provided by the Facilities Management Help Desk which supports over 1,400 staff members in New York on a daily basis.

The Division of Finance & Administration (DFAM) at UNICEF HQ strives to provide relevant, accurate and timely information to the UNICEF executive leadership to facilitate robust decision-making and strategic direction recognizing the needs of children across the world. The DFAM overall objective is to ensure that Financial resources are fully attributed to the Strategic Plan results chain, made available in a timely manner, used effectively and efficiently within an optimized organizational structure which is ‘fit for purpose’. This is achieved through periodic measurement and transparent reporting of financial and administrative performance, and the development and application of risk-informed policy, improved procedures and innovative systems.

How can you make a difference?

The incumbent of this post will assist the Facilities Management Coordinator as well as the Chief, Facilities Management Services in monitoring and administration of all IT applications including service ticketing system, security access control technology and other applications. This role supports the services provided by the Facilities Management Help Desk which supports over 1,400 staff members in New York on a daily basis.

  • Provide direct guidance and daily oversight for Facilities Management Help Desk services and systems.  
  • Monitor all service requests and assist supervisor in expediting resolution of request for building services.
  • Review, document, streamline and automate all IT-related standard operating procedures with a focus on improving efficiency and standardization.
  • Serve as back-up focal point for SharePoint administrative services and periodically review design, customization and content of Help Desk SharePoint team site.
  • Management of all Certificates of Insurance requests to ensure they are approved for outside vendors scheduled to provide services for events.
  • Any other tasks and activities as required by DFAM Administrative Services Section and Facilities Management Section.

To qualify as a champion for every child you will have…

  • Completion of secondary education. University level courses in Computer Science, Business Administration or equivalent specialized training is considered an asset.
  • A minimum of six years of relevant experience in providing progressively responsible administrative support services, preferably with a focus in facilities support services or customer support.
  • Working knowledge of UNICEF systems, especially Service Manager, SAP/VISION, Access Control Systems, eSAF, or MS SharePoint is considered an asset.
  • Passing the GGST Exam (Global General Service Test) or UN ASAT in English is required.
  • Non-US candidates must be in possession of a US G4 visa or be a US permanent resident/citizen.
  • Fluency in English is required.  Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
