Who are we?
Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a leading global displacement
agency working in 40 countries, in conjunction with our specialist mine action
unit, Danish Demining Group (DDG), which has been working in Afghanistan since
1999. DRC commenced operations in Afghanistan in 2011 and is today a leading
actor in humanitarian response with membership of the Humanitarian Country Team
and recent high-level representation at the Brussels Conference on Afghanistan.
DRC-DDG Afghanistan is part of DRC’s Central & South-West Asia (CASWA)
region covering Afghanistan, Iran and Paki-stan. Within an overall strategic
framework of responding to emergencies, seeking solutions to pro-tracted displacement;
and tackling root causes, DRC-DDG Afghanistan’s current programming
encompasses: mine action, emergency response, protection, armed violence
reduction, and livelihoods. With more than 500 fulltime national and
international staff members, offices in Kabul, Jalalabad, Kandahar, Herat and
Mazar-i-Sharif and a portfolio in 2016 of USD 13 million, DRC-DDG Afghanistan
is one of the largest INGOs operating in Afghanistan.
About the job:
The Field Officer is part of the Emergency Field
Team and he/she is responsible for implementing DRC Afghanistan’s emergency
project activities in the field. A key member of the team, Field Officer needs
to combine her/his experience of emergency Field programming with good needs, assessment,
distribution of cash and relief items and monitoring capabilities in order to
meet the project objectives. The Field Officer works under the supervision of
the Senior Field Officer. S/he reports to the Senior Field Officer.
Responsibilities:
Programme Implementation
- Coordinating, leading and conducting rapid needs assessments in the field using HEAT tools
- Mapping of protection services actors in his/her area
- Establish good contact and linkages with other humanitarian actors in the field
- Beneficiary selection processes
- Coordinating, conducting emergency field distributions (Cash and NFIs)
- Planning and implementation of activities
- conducting Rapid Market assessments
- Data collection, both through paper based and digital forms
- Conducting Post Distribution Monitoring if required line close coordination with M&E Officer.
- Produce basic reports on needs assessments and proposed responses
- Travel within and out the region to support the emergency Field all over the Country
- When requested, join a DRC flying team and be ready to be re-allocated for short period and with short notice, outside the normal area of operation (within the country).

About you
To be successful
in this role you must have:
Education:
- High Scool Graduate (essintial)
- Bachelor on social sciences(Desidred)
Experience and
Qualification:
- At least 3 years’ experience within humanitarian work, prior experience, IDP or natual disasters resonses is desirable
- At least 1 years experience in engagement with community
Languages:
- Excellent spoken and written Dari and Pashto
- Good command on English

- Duty station: Kabul with travel to provinces
We offer:
DRC-DDG will offer the successful applicant a contract from 1 August 2017 to 31 October 2017.
Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for national staff. This position will be placed at salary Grade D, level 1, basic 745 USD.
