Field Officer (Idlib province) – Part-time

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Field Coordinator, the Field Officers are responsible for visiting program partners and sites in Syria to ensure better understanding of program impact; conducting periodic surveys, interviews, and assessments; and reporting on operating environments to help guide improved program direction and implementation. In addition to these core tasks, the Field Officers may be requested to conduct other monitoring and evaluation (M&E) related outreach. The position is based in Syria with frequent travel within Syria.

Reporting & Supervision:

Field Officers report directly to the Field Coordinator.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• As security conditions allow, conduct site visits to partners and project sites in Syria to evaluate impact of assistance and success of projects in meeting their objectives;
• Develop comprehensive reports for each site visit, including photographs/videos, interviews, and general observations, and contribute to project final reports;
• Help to administer monthly and ad hoc M&E surveys, interview project partners, collect and enter data into the project’s database, and submit findings to project management within the established timeframe; and
• Conduct other M&E outreach and information gathering activities, as directed by the Field Coordinator.

 Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Previous experience working in an M&E role inside Syria - data collection and entry, surveys, interviews;
• Demonstrable experience working independently and taking initiative;
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, including speaking and writing;
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills, reliability, and attention to detail;
• Able and willing to regularly travel throughout western Aleppo countryside, Idlib, northern Hama and northern Latakia provinces as conditions allow;
• Currently located in Idlib province; and
• Native written and spoken Arabic.

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

• Advanced English language skills;
• Previous experience producing written reports in English language; and
• Previous experience with photography and video production.
