Housing and Infrastructure Volunteer (National Staff Only)

We are looking for a highly qualified candidate to provide the Housing and Infrastructure department with assistance.

Who are we? 

Danish refugee council has been operating in the Middle East and North Africa for over a decade, running a combination of livelihood, protection, advocacy and relief projects. DRC has six project offices throughout Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia/Libya, Turkey, and both a country and regional office in Jordan. 

DRC Lebanon has been assisting the Syrian displaced, fleeing Syria into northern Lebanon, since May 2011. This assistance has come through the provision of food and non-food items, various outreach activities (registration, follow-up and awareness sessions) rehabilitation of collective shelters and the implementation of quick impact projects.

About the job 

Implementation of housing and infrastructure related projects  

 

• Under the supervision of Housing and Infrastructure Officer to identifypotential sites for Housing and Infrastructure activities. 

• Under the supervision of Housing and Infrastructure Officer to aid in any ongoing rapid needs assessment. 

• Under the supervision of Housing and Infrastructure Officer to conduct winterization assessment. 

• Supervision of ongoing construction works. 

• Reporting to the Housing and infrastructure officer the progress of the works and any site issues

Required qualifications 

• Having Engineering Background and experience.

 

Desirable qualifications

Ideally, you will also have: 

• Experience in construction works or in NGO work is a plus.

 

We offer 

DRC will offer the successful applicant a 4 months contract, renewable on both funds and performance. You must be available to start work from September 2017 and be willing and able to work in Tripoli. 

This position will be placed at level V with a compensation of maximum 450 USD per month.
