Our Ideal Candidate:

We are seeking a motivated humanitarian professional to join our Syria Response Office located in Amman. They are a university graduate with at least 3 years’ experience managing projects for an international organization in an emergency setting. They have thorough experience with and knowledge of principles and current approaches to education programming; this ideally includes experience with youth, adult and basic education activities.

We are particularly looking for an individual with strong project and people management skills. The position also requires expertise in remote management and understanding of the Syrian context. Fluency in both English and Arabic is essential.

Position Description:

The Education Project Manager’s responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinate with Area Office management to ensure the provision of Youth Programming, Adult Education and Basic Education activities
  • Work with partner staff to build capacity both internally in NRC and in the partner agency
  • Design and develop program approaches and activities that can be piloted and expanded to other project areas
  • Build capacity of education teams to operationalize quality, timely and comprehensive education programming
  • Support the development of NRC and Education Sector Response Strategies
