WCARO has recently issued a batch vacancy for the recruitment of Chief of Operations at P4&P5 level, to fill upcoming vacancies in the region and populate respective Chief of Operations talent groups. In order to ensure a robust, fair and transparent process, a Consultant is going to be hired to manage the technical screening, shortlisting and assessment process.

Purpose of the Assignment

Under the supervision of the Regional Chief of Operations, and close coordination with Regional Chief of Human Resources, the Consultant will manage the technical screening, shortlisting and assessment process

  •  Contribute to the review, analysis and finalization of the short list.
  • Contribute to the development, administration and grading of technical written tests.
  • Contribute to the assessment of candidates using multiple selection tools
  • Contribute to Operation Staff career development by providing post assessment feedback

 approach:

The consultant will work closely with the Regional Chief of Operations and the Regional Chief of Human Resources to coordinate the process in a fair and transparent manner. Impartiality and confidentiality are required. The consultant should immediately disclose any conflict of interest.

Assignment Tasks / Expected Deliverables

  • Generate a shortlist of candidates, following a technical review of experiences (5 working days)
  • Written tests reports, following the grading (5 working days)
  • Final interview report, following assessment (5 working days)
  • Final Report of the process including lessons (5 working days)
  • Provide feedback to unsuccessful candidates at the end of the process (5 working days)

Qualifications of Successful Candidate

Education

  • An Advanced University Degree in business management, accounting, economics, financial management or other related social sciences is required.

Years of relevant experience

  • At least 10 years’ experience in a managerial position relevant to this assignment;
  • Highly proficient in English and French skills with the ability to write in a clear and practical manner.
  • Experience in UNICEF/UN is an asset, not a requirement
