UNICEF Supply Division in Copenhagen is seeking a Snr. Technical Assistant (Warehouse Management), GS-7 level. The position is newly established and will be effective from 1 January 2018.

This position will report to the Warehouse Manager and is located within the Warehouse Unit of the Warehouse and Inventory Management Centre in UNICEF Supply Division, Copenhagen, which supports UNICEF’s work for children by developing relevant policies, providing guidance in the management of the inventory/warehouse to the country offices and manage Supply Division controlled warehouses in Copenhagen and the hubs enabling Supply Division respond to emergencies and regular programme globally.

 

How can you make a difference?

As system administrator of the Warehouse Management System and focal point for the technical management services in the warehouse, the incumbent is accountable for delivery of efficient and cost effective technical support services of the ANT Warehouse Management System.

Summary of key functions/accountabilities:

  • Ensure efficient administration of the Warehouse Management system for all user categories (Warehouse Super User, Warehouse Operator, QA Operator)
  • Undertake the daily monitoring of interfaces between VISION and ANT and analyze and advise on the resolution of system failures.
  • Undertake the daily monitoring of the system performance and interact with the warehouse supervisors, warehouse operators and the SSI support team.
  • Undertake the trouble shooting in ANT/VISION and provide first line support to operational staff for both software and hardware issues.
  • Ensure proper fine tuning of system performance and address any critical performance issues to the warehouse manager.
  • Maintain the system issues’ database and document solutions and progress.
  • Undertake the testing of fixes to system issues and ensure that UNICEF's system operating standards are adhered to.
  • Maintain the system documentation and training material.
  • Assist in training of warehouse operation
  • Extract data from reports from ANT and VISION
  • Assist in the management of the automated warehouse
  • Provide basic trouble shooting and minimize down time
  • Focal point between VISION NY/ANT for system integration and testing and up-grades.
  • Other relevant duties as assigned.

 

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Requirements:

  • Completion of secondary education
  • Minimum 7 years of professional work experience in the area of warehouse management
  • Experience with warehouse management systems and technical support to users
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems, (ANT WMS), SAP and Barcode soft- and hardware
  • Knowledge of warehouse management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office package in particular, Excel, Word and Power Point
  • Fluency in English
  • Residency and valid work permit for Denmark

Desirables:

  • Working knowledge of another official UN language (French, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Russian)
