Finance Assistant - Tunis

Please note as this is a local post, International IDEA will bear no costs relating to relocation of the selected candidate to the duty station. This position is open to those legally authorized to live and work in Tunisia.

To provide finance and administrative support, assist with the preparation of documents and maintain records and files for the Tunis Office.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Processes invoices, project advance requests, project expenditure reports etc.;
  • Assists with expenditure control and checks expenditure against budgets;
  • Prepares and supports the administration and performance management of Contracts and Agreements for service providers and/or partner organizations;
  • Allocates invoice costs, and verifies compliance of  invoices in accordance with International IDEA’s policies and procedures;
  • Processes and records cash and bank payments and ensures supporting documentation is collected;
  • Prepares monthly tax declarations;
  • Registers and updates contracts, invoices and daily transactions in International IDEA’s accountancy system;
  • Checks the supporting documents for the project expenditure reports;
  • Maintains a filing and archiving system for accounting, financial documents and records;
  • Assists with the registration of internal/external communications and institutional documents, in liaison with the Archivist.

Education and Experience

  • 2 years’ experience working with finance administration;
  • High school diploma and preferably business and/or secretarial education; university background is considered an advantage;
  • Experience of working in an international context, e.g. in an intergovernmental organization, considered an advantage.

Terms of Contract:

Local Post. One (1) year fixed term appointment. 

Salary entry point TND 1 732.
