Background Information - Job-specific

The primary purpose of this post is to provide user support by analyzing system issues with the oversight of senor support professionals and developers as well as the overall supervision of a senior project manager. This post is a junior position and will not take a leadership role in any capacity or function. The accountability for the deliveries will be managed by the immediate supervisor and senior team members in the organizational and functional contexts. The incumbent will work with peers as necessary to accomplish his/her tasks and resolve issues. As a coordinator, the incumbent is expected to establish good working relationship with a few focal points of users community.

Functional Responsibilities

  1. Work with senior support staff and developers to provide support for a fuel management system to achieve smooth resolution of system issues and exceptional client service.
  2. Participate in user acceptance testing and compile the results to deliver reliable software.
  3. Coordinate with users in peacekeeping missions for system and transaction data issues.
  4. Participate in application deployment and user training in field missions for the successful system deployment and acceptance among the user community.
  5. May participate in application localization into Chinese.
Impact of Results 

General user support work will impact the service to the user communities throughout the United Nations Secretariat peacekeeping missions where eFMS system is deployed.  As a coordinator, the incumbent will attend to one or two missions specifically and assist the clients for efficient usage of the system.

Education/Experience/Language requirements

Education:
  • A High School diploma is required. A Bachelor's or Master's degree is highly desirable.
Experience:
  • Minimum of four year of experience in user support, user coordination, or data analysis of enterprise application(s) in organization(s) where English is the primary official language is required. With a Bachelor's or Master's degree from a university where English is the primary language of study, no relevant experience is required; however, knowledge or expertise in enterprise applications support, user coordination, or data analysis is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge or exposure to Siebel CRM based system is highly desirable.
  • Experience in software testing, deployment and/or training  is highly desirable.
  • Experience within the UN, UN agencies, and/or field mission environment is highly desirable
Language Requirements:

Fluency in English is required. Knowledge in Chinese (Mandarin) is highly desirable. Knowledge of French and UN official languages is an advantage.
