The Human Resources Editorial Consultant is responsible for maintaining and enhancing content on the UNFPA jobs web page.  This role involves editing and condensing job descriptions to make them more engaging by creating functional titles, a short engaging blurb on the role and picking out key responsibilities.  The aim of this role is to generate greater interest and response to our job advertisements, attracting high quality candidates from diverse sectors.  The consultant will:

  • Write engaging blurbs for jobs
  • Edit and condense job description for clarity and engagement
  • Ensure alignment of web content with UNFPA's 'voice'

Consultancy will be home based for six months and will be on a retainer basis (per job description)

Required Qualification and Experience

  • Superb writing and editing skills, strong and copy-editing background;
  • Advanced University degree in Journalism, Communications, International Development or similar field;
  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in news reporting, journalistic writing, editing or communications.  Preferred at least 3 years spent at the international level;
  • Knowledge of international development issues;
  •  Fluency in English with excellent drafting abilities and editorial skills required;
  •  Knowledge of another UN Language (French or Spanish) is an asset.
