Background Information - Job-specific

The UNOPS ICT Enterprise Reporting Team is responsible for the development, delivery and maintenance of reporting products. This includes organization-wide reporting tools for internal use, external partner use and for public use. 

Meanwhile, the UNOPS Global Shared Service Centre (GSSC) is a Corporate Support Group (CSG) unit established for the purpose of providing internal, global and cost-effective transactional services which enhance the operational capacity of UNOPS and standardize systems and procedures. The GSSC, among other functions, carries out high-quality transactional services within the area of personnel administration, contract management, benefits & entitlements and payroll to UNOPS and its partners. To ensure increased cost-efficiency and consistency with UNOPS systems, GSSC has expanded its services to include both Individual Contractor Agreement (ICAs) and UN staff members.

Reporting to the GSSC Payroll Manager in daily operations as well as the ICT Enterprise Reporting Lead, the Data Reporting Associate will be required to design and implement data architecture to support data structures optimized for reporting and analytics. The incumbent is expected to abide by security policies, administrative instructions, plans and procedures of the UN Security Management System and that of UNOPS.

Functional Responsibilities

The Data Reporting Associate will provide report building support to the Global Shared Service Center (GSSC), including, but not limited to, the following:

·         Support report implementation with regards to HR, Payroll and Supplier data

·         Arrange for professional implementation of data architecture standards and services

·         Implement Stored Procedures, Functions and Views using SQL Server Transact-SQL

·         Build reports using SQL, cubes and mdx

·         Provide technical support in extracting data according to business needs and on an ad hoc basis

·         Support design reviews of solutions with structured and unstructured data covering data integration, data flow, data warehouse, and business intelligence.

·         Provide highly specialized support to stakeholders, facilitate data-modelling sessions, understanding business requirements and writing technical requirements, at all times applying ICT standards and best practices for reporting elements

·         Take responsibility for overall integrity, quality, accessibility and accuracy of information in reports supplied to the business

·         Performance of related duties, as required

Education/Experience/Language requirements

Education: High school diploma required. Post-secondary education with specialized certification computer science, computer engineering or similar is desired. A BA or MA degree may substitute required years of work experience.
Experience with UNIT4 Agresso and the reporting functions within this platform would be an advantage; SQL Server Certification is desirable. A minimum of 2 years of SQL experience building reports is also required.

Knowledge of data warehouses concepts, such as star schemas and surrogate keys, is desirable.

Language Requirements: Fluency in written and oral English.
