We are looking for a highly qualified Community Mobilisation Officer (CMO) to assist in the implementation of ongoing projects which will contribute to improving the immediate income generating opportunities for vulnerable Jordanians living in refugees hosting communities, particularly women and youth. In partnership with another international NGO, DRC activities will focus on increasing the capacity of community organizations, civil society organization and municipalities to plan and implement projects and sub-grants in support of local economic activities. 
 
 
Who are we? 
 
DRC is an international non-governmental organization, which promotes and supports durable solutions to the problems faced by refugees and internally displaced people all over the world. With the vision that no displaced person must be in want of help to find protection and durable solutions, DRC provides assistance and protection to conflict-affected in many of the major conflicts in Asia, Africa and Middle East. The assistance can consist of relief and other humanitarian aid, rehabilitation and support to returning home, and the promotion of durable solutions. 
 
About the job 
 
A successful CMO will be someone with clear experience in community development and community-driven techniques, will have experience working with rural and urban communities in Jordan, and will have had demonstrable work experience in local economic development and livelihoods programming in the past.  
 
 
 
 
Duties and Responsibilities 
 
• Assist in the overall implementation of Project in the North of Jordan .  
• Mapping of targeted communities to identify volunteers, community leaders, leading NGOs and businesses, schools, health centers, youth centers and governmental institutions and other assets. 
• Liaise with municipalities and other partners / stakeholders working in the same communities; 
• Facilitate meetings with municipalities and other partners and stakeholders;  
• Assist in providing technical and economic support to grantees applying for grants under the project; 
• Assist prospective grantees in preparing responsive applications by reviewing and enhancing their overall implementation plans and budgets in accordance to project regulations; 
• Assist in technical follow up of projects under implementation including organizing receiving committees, ensuring safety standards are met, following up on project delays, performing final checks and maintaining documentation; 
• Assist grants team by conducting market research to ensure proposed budgets are up to date with current prices in the local market; 
• Organize and facilitate training sessions; 
• Attend meetings with partners and stakeholders in North of Jordan includes but not limited to Irbid, Mafraq, Al-Ramtha and Amman when applicable; 
• Support other field offices in organizing and facilitating large events when necessary; 
• Maintain photos and reports on all sessions, meetings and site visits (Community volunteers list, Minutes of Meetings, Monitoring reports, Site Visits Reports, Close-out Reports etc.); 
• Maintain a good relationship with the municipalities and government institutions in Irbid 
• Ensure that Project’s communications materials (e.g. banners) are visible and present in all events, trainings, ceremonies etc. 
• Keep an up to date record of major events in the governorate and report on them when necessary; 
• Submit required weekly and monthly reports by the deadlines 
• Support office maintenance and logistics when necessary; 
• Participate and engage in any Project’s trainings and meetings as requested by supervisor; 
• Ensure cross-program integration, learning, sharing and adoption of best practices from other DRC activities and teams. 
• Ensure effective integration and mainstreaming of gender into all programs. 
• Any other tasks assigned by supervisor 
 
 
 
 
About you 
 
To be successful in this role you must have:  
 
Required qualifications/experience:  
     • Bachelor degree in Social Sciences, Rural Development, International Development, Social Work or a related field, with         significant course components in either community development, social work.
 
      • Ability to work in North of Jordan with excellent knowledge of local communities in Irbid / Mafraq governorates.   
 
       .  Fluency in Arabic required and  English language skills are required.

We offer 
 
DRC will offer the successful applicant a three months contract. You must be available to start work as soon as possible and be willing and able to work in Irbid/Mafraq -Jordan.  
 
Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for Nationals. This position will be placed at Grade D.
