SCA Background

The Swedish Committee for Afghanistan (SCA) has been working in Afghanistan since 1982, presently managing development programmes concerning Health, Education, Rural Livelihoods and Community Governance, with a total annual budget of roughly USD 40 million. The total number of staff is around 5,500. During the last 10 years SCA has undertaken a change process moving from a primarily humanitarian service delivery approach towards more of a developmental role, putting increasing emphasis on capacity development, rights-based programming and outcome orientation. The mission of SCA is to empower individuals, communities and local organizations, primarily in rural areas and with particular focus on women, girls, boys and vulnerable groups such as people with disabilities, so that they may participate fully in society and influence their own development. Scope of work:

Audit work will cover all systems and activities in all units and sections of the KMO, Project offices and field offices. Work will be prioritized according to risk and the judgment of the internal audit manager and auditor-in-charge responsible for each audit assignment. Audits may range from compliance work to operational auditing reviews as appropriate.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree(BBA) and CIA
• 4 years’ experience of internal audit with non-governmental or UN agencies.
• Computer skill at operator level, especially with MS Office packages.
• Fluency in English and Dari and/or Pashto, both written and spoken
• Interpersonal and communication skills
• Supervisory, team worker, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
• Experience of planning, reporting and budgeting
• Ability and willingness to travel to the project sites within Afghanistan and adjust to SCA environment.
• Honest, proactive and well mannered.

Main Responsibilities:

• Assisting the IAM in improving the internal audit procedures and developments of related needed reports formats
• Cooperative to the IAM in preparing annual work plan and budget of the unit
• Preparation of action plan of  IA unit for annual activities with regards to the WP & budget and with close cooperation of IAM
• Coordinate the activities of Internal Audit practices with Internal audit officers
• Preparation of Internal Audit program  according to the general work plan and activities plan of IAU
• Leading opening meeting/Closing Internal Audit Meetings.
• Conducting independents audits and investigations with close cooperation of IAM
• Drafting Internal Audit Reports                                       
• Travelling to all offices of SCA in Afghanistan.
