At CARE, we seek a world of hope, tolerance and social justice, where poverty has been overcome and people live with dignity and security.

This has been our vision since 1945, when we were founded to send lifesaving CARE Packages® to survivors of World War II. Today, CARE is a global leader in the movement to eradicate poverty. In 2016, CARE worked in 94 countries and reached 80 million people with an incredible range of life-saving programs. We also put women and girls at the center of our work because we know that we cannot overcome poverty until all people have equal rights and opportunities. We seek dynamic, innovative thinkers to further our mission. If you share our core beliefs: poverty is an injustice; poverty is solvable; and together, we have the power to end it, join us.

The Investor Relations and Impact Director leads key aspects of CARE Enterprises Inc. (CEI) related to impact measurement, interactions with key investors/stakeholders, and broader outreach and fundraising activities for the CEI Growth Fund. A critical, predominant component of the role is to spearhead the design, development, and ongoing management of the impact measurement system for CARE Enterprises’ portfolio – ensuring sound implementation throughout the investments’ life cycle, and ensuring that CARE Enterprises upholds its commitment to “impact first” in the Growth Fund. This position also serves as a critical interface between CEI’s management team and its investors, through reporting, meetings, and other required activities to ensure investors are satisfied with CEI’s performance. Finally, the role requires senior-level support to the CEI Managing Partner in outreach and fundraising efforts with potential investors and/or donors for the CEI Growth Fund – a function that requires a deep understanding of the CEI investment thesis and approach. The multi-faceted nature of this role reinforces its critical, central nature to the overall success of CARE Enterprises – with both external outreach and engagement as well as managing internal systems necessary to uphold the core of CEI’s investment thesis.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading the design and implementation of CEI’s impact measurement system
  • Manage Relations with CEI Investors
  • Support Business Development for CARE Enterprises Growth Fund I

Qualifications:

  • Master Degree in International Development, Business or Finance
  • Minimum five years of experience working with businesses in frontier markets
  • A clear understanding of the impact investment space
  • Minimum two years’ experience in impact investing
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Basic financial analysis skills
  • Strong excel skills (including financial modeling)
