As Technical Departments in Action Against Hunger, we develop, on the basis of a multi-sectorial framework, methodologies and technical approaches for ensuring nutritional security and capacity building at family, community and institutional levels.

Our Technical Teams are in charge to propose a set of interventions and good practices for improving food and nutrition security, considering actions for treatment, prevention and risk reduction. Our objective is to contribute to change the reality of hunger, to optimize the impact of our response towards vulnerable populations and to set clear priorities in the fight against hunger.

In the Department of Prevention & Resilience, our overall objective is to continually improve and adapt the quality and impact of our interventions, through the development of operations in the field, by promoting innovation, by linking technical evidence with advocacy and by transferring knowledge and expertise.

POSITION GENERAL OBJECTIVE

Ensure the continuous quality of our interventions on Prevention and Resilience building, actively promoting the development of the approach inside Action Against Hunger and based on a knowledge learning process, argued on technical evidence.

POSITION SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES AND TASKS

Provide short-term technical and operational support to our Missions, focused on all the project cycle’s steps around Prevention & Resilience issues.

Participate to the management and development of our staff, involved on DRM and Disaster Resilience initiatives, in our Missions and HQ.

Energize the technical development, learning process and creativity on DRM and Disaster Resilience issues.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

BA, BSc or Master degree in general studies

Project cycle management

Minimum of 2 years of field experience in humanitarian interventions, occupying key technical management positions within NGOs (as coordinator, technical expert or technical assistant)

Very good technical knowledge of the whole spectrum of Disaster Risk Management and Resilience to Disasters, ideally in rural and urban contexts

Fluent for writing and speaking in French and English; Spanish is a plus

Required

Maximum 70% of the time dedicated to short-term support missions or gap filling in the different countries where Action Against Hunger operates

REMUNERATION

We offer immediate incorporation to a dynamic international network with the following remuneration package:

Work contract: 2 years

Based in Madrid

Salary: between 24.000 € and € 27.000 € gross per year.

25 working days of paid leave per year. Meal vouchers.
