The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is a non-governmental, humanitarian organization with 60 years of experience in helping to create a safer and more dignified life for refugees and internally displaced people. NRC advocates for the rights of displaced populations and offers assistance within the shelter, education, emergency food security, legal assistance, and water,sanitation and hygiene sectors.

The Norwegian Refugee Council has approximately 5000 committed and competent employees involved in projects across four continents. In addition, NRC runs one of the world’s largest standby rosters -NORCAP, with 650 professionals, ready to be deployed on 72 hours notice when a crisis occurs

NRC is looking for NFI officer in our office in Severodonetsk,Ukraine.
The purpose of the officer position is day to day implementation of the NFI functions responsibilities.

Job description

Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
Assist with the implementation of NFI portfolio according to plan of action
Prepare and develop status reports as required by management
Ensure proper filing and scanning of documents according NRC procedures
Contribute to protection risks and needs analyses
Contribute to design of protection response to identified risks and needs
NFI specific responsibility for the quality control and monitoring of project activities
NFI specific responsibility for project documentation of technical activities of NFI project(s)
Ensure that the project is implemented in adherence with the requirements of the partnership agreement
Ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need, and explore and assess new and better ways to assist.
Support the Project Manager with “mobilization”, informing the community about the planned activities, the criteria for, and selection of beneficiaries
Contribute to the development of assessments
Filling out Tracking System files with NFI activities
Implementation and supervision of distribution activities
Providing recommendations for activities implementation improvement
Provide specific technical support and capacity building towards project staff
Produce weekly progress report on the NFI activities
Conduct field trips, where necessary, to liaise with beneficiaries during all stages of the activities, for signing agreements and other project relevant documentations
Ensure that procurement, development and distribution of materials and equipment are timely and according to procedures
Ensure correct data tracking for all NFI interventions and prepare periodic progress reports and other documents as required
Involve and inform communities and local authorities about the activities and ensure that all projects are in line with national guidelines and regulations
Assist and support the direct line manager is drafting reports of any kind
Perform any other duties assigned by Line Manager.

Qualifications

Experience working as a NFI Officer in a humanitarian/recovery context
Experience from working as a social worker and/or with distribution of humanitarian assistance
Higher education, within a related field of study
Documented results related to the position's responsibilities
Good written and spoken English
Skills in solving problems
Responsibility, independence, attentiveness, ability to handle stress, diligence.
