ABOUT THE JOB

 

The Project Officer (PO) will be responsible for the overall management and coordination of tasks for the implementation of DANIDA project. The PO will set-up, manage and coordinate all office-related functions such logistics, procurement, and recruitment with the relevant departments in accordance with the operations and administrative SOPs. He acts as the liaison between DRC/DDG different units and field teams.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Set overall project plans and Project Monitoring Tool with the relevant department and follow up its implementation monthly.
  • Follow with the Operations Unit and Operations Manager the implementation of operations (technical) plans.
  • Prepare monthly narrative report on project’s progress and activities with inputs from the field.
  • Coordinate the finalization and dissemination of technical reports prepared by technical team or operations staff.
  •  Keep documentation of all files and correspondences related to the project.
  • Report various line function activities to the respective Mine Action Manager (MAM) in DDG HQ Kabul.
  • Manage and coordinate activities between Operations, Logistics and Admin/Finance staff. Ensure to correct application of logistics, administrative and financial procedures at relevant area of operation.
  • Be informed of the security situation on a daily basis with the teams and keeps MAM promptly updated, and report any changes with the security situation of the relevant area to the MAM, Head of Program and safety officer.
  • Administrate supervise project staff, collect monthly timesheets and be updated of their workplans set with the MAM and Operations Unit.
  • Oversee the project budget, and ensure that it is spent as planned, and monthly monitors expenditures and make corrective actions and rebookings accordingly.
  • Report all project activities and provide comprehensive inputs required for finalizing project donors reports to the Grants unit/Focal point.
  • Summarize and submit the relevant team’s monthly achievement report to MAM and Operations Unit.
  • As delegated by MAM, Liaise with DMAC and other humanitarian and development organisations active in the operation area. Liaise with other authorities.
  • Conducts other cross-functions within DDG department as requested. The PO will be responsible to assist HOP and Grants unit in mainstreaming Gender policies, training and capacity building of all DDG staff.
  • Act as the focal point for HR related matter for the DANIDA project, or others issues within DDG as requested.
  • Undertake any other tasks as directed by line manager.

 

ABOUT YOU

 

To be successful in this role you must have:


Experience and technical competencies:

 

  • 5-years demonstrated experience in project cycle management and management of project functions.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing or coordinating support functions including finance, HR and Admin is required.
  • Demonstrated experienced in mainstreaming gender and workplace capacity building initiatives is required.
  • Strong communication, reporting and writing skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to set up and monitoring project workplans.
  • Familiarity of Mine Action is an advantage.
  • Middle management level

     

    Education:

     

    Bachelor degree or other relevant qualifications in administration, social science, or any relevant disciplines.

     

    Languages:

     

  • Pashto and Dari –fluency
  • English -advanced

• Availability: As soon as possible

• Duty station: Kabul with possible travel to project sites

 

We offer:

 

• DRC-DDG will offer the successful applicant a contract till end of 2018, extendable based on funding and performance.

• Salary and conditions will be in accordance with NTA Salary Scale, Grade C, Level 3 equal to 90,222 AFN per month.
