Amnesty International is an organisation with unique Information Security challenges. Our role is to draw the world's attention to grave abuses of human rights, and in turn we attract the attention of those who might wish to disrupt our operations. We speak for the victims of Human Rights abuses, people who might come to further harm if their identity is disclosed. Our offices are in some very challenging info sec environments. Our staff are mobile and need to communicate securely with each other and third parties. Information Security is critical to our mission. We have invested in modern systems and consider security in everything we do but constant vigilance is required and ever more needs to be done.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The IT department provides IT services including Windows desktop, email, websites, intranet, finance and other systems to the International Secretariat. The department supports approximately 700 users distributed in 20 offices around the globe. In this role you will be responsible for the security of Amnesty International International Secretariat (IS) computer systems and the reliable operation of our networks. You will also optimize and monitor our security systems both those operated in house and through the Managed Security Service (MSS), and develop and implement an information security incident response plan. You will be expected to develop and deliver information security training, and will be required to advise and support staff from across the secretariat on information security risks and their mitigations.

ABOUT YOU

You will have extensive knowledge and experience of systems security and act as primary source of expertise on Information Security by maintaining awareness of Info Sec threats and identifying, understanding and mitigating potential threats to Amnesty International. You will be comfortable providing advice and training to staff on operational information security and appropriate information security precautions, and maintain and develop capacity management processes for all Network infrastructure. You will ideally hold professional qualifications in either network equipment configuration or Information Security. Significant problem solving skills are also essential including diagnosis, trouble shooting and resolution across multiple interconnected systems. You will also be able to manage own workload and priorities.

ABOUT US

Amnesty International is a global movement of more than 7 million people who campaign for a world where human rights are enjoyed by all. We reach almost every country in the world and have:

One where human rights are respected and protected by everyone, everywhere.

At Amnesty International, we are passionate about what we do and we are proud of our achievements as a movement.
