Background Information - UNOPS

UNOPS supports the successful implementation of its partners’ peacebuilding, humanitarian and development projects around the world. Our mission is to serve people in need by expanding the ability of the United Nations, governments and other partners to manage projects, infrastructure and procurement in a sustainable and efficient manner.

Working in some of the world’s most challenging environments, our vision is to advance sustainable implementation practices, always satisfying or surpassing our partners’ expectations.

With over 7,000 personnel spread across 80 countries, UNOPS offers its partners the logistical, technical and management knowledge they need, wherever they need it.

A flexible structure and global reach means that we can quickly respond to our partners' needs, while offering the benefits of economies of scale.

Based in Geneva, Switzerland, the Europe and Central Asia Regional Office (ECR) supports UNOPS offices in the region, providing management and financial/programmatic oversight of Global and Country specific Portfolios, Clusters and Operations Centers including hosting services, fund management, management advisory services, implementing projects, procuring goods and services and managing human resources.

ECR ensures that projects are executed to the highest standards, providing a shared knowledge base and ensuring that best practices and lessons learned are disseminated between business units and projects across the entire region.

The UNOPS Geneva office is hosting Stop Tuberculosis Partnership Secretariat (STBP) as of 1 January 2015. The purpose of STBP is to realize the goal of elimination of tuberculosis as a public health problem and, ultimately, to obtain a world free of tuberculosis. In order to achieve this, STBP manages the Global Drugs Facility (GDF), the TB REACH, and the Challenge Facility, which provide a broad range of procurement, grants and advocacy activities, as well as a leading coordination role at national, regional and global levels.

To support the efforts of STBP, a Portfolio Management Team has been established within the UNOPS Geneva Office. The Portfolio Analyst reports to the Senior Portfolio Manager and will be a key member of the STBP Portfolio Management Team that provides a range of implementation support services to ensure rapid and compliant delivery of all aspects of the programme, to include administration, procurement, grants, human resources, and finance.
