ORGANIZATIONAL SETTING

The KAICIID Fellows Programme brings together leaders and educators from Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Jewish, Muslim and other religious backgrounds for training in dialogue facilitation, intercultural communication and promoting social cohesion by KAICIID experts. The programme equips Fellows with the skills to educate their students and communities about interreligious dialogue so they can become facilitators and leaders in the dialogue and active peace advocates in their communities.

ROLE

Under the supervision and the guidance of the Programme Managers (PMs), Fellows Programme, the primary role of the Regional Coordinator will be to support the Fellows Programme by coordinating the activities and initiatives of the KAICIID Fellows Alumni Network (KFN) in the region for which he/she is responsible. The Regional Coordinator will also back-stop and support the Programme Managers with administration of the entire Fellows programme.

FUNCTIONS

  • Coordination of the regional KAICIID Fellows Network (KFH) for Alumni Fellows 
    • Serve as the primary regional focal point for addressing concerns related to the Fellows programme;
    • Maintain good cooperation and regular communication with Fellows and other stakeholders;
    • Keep PMs updated on the network developments, recommend measures for expanding network opportunities;
    • Support the updating of the KAICIID Fellows online Platform;
    • Coordinate Fellows involvement in external (non-KAICIID) events and conferences and keeping records of such involvements;
    • Contribute to updating of Fellows Programme quarterly and annual reports and all Fellows publications;
    • Oversee and follow up the review process of Fellows initiatives, establish mechanisms for providing advice and support;
    • Support PMs with implementation of residential and online trainings;
    • In close consultation with PMs, initiate relationships with the Fellows’ institutions (including similar potential institutions) to develop partnerships and networking opportunities.
  • General Programme Administration:
    • Attend regular weekly meetings with the PMs (via Skype or similar virtual means);
    • Support communications with all KFN alumni and, upon request, current Fellows by managing the Fellows inbox and preparing email correspondence;
    • Support the selection process for new Fellows by releasing and disseminating call for applications, and reviewing applications;
    • Support the coordination of online Sessions/Activities for all current KAICIID Fellows in the region;
    • Coordinate micro-grants activities.
  • Support in Monitoring and Evaluation of the Programme:
    • Disseminate training evaluation questionnaires, contribute to their design;
    • Ensure appropriate monitoring and evaluation of the projects initiated by the Fellows including collection of relevant baseline data;
    • Regularly identify and report on case-studies and lessons learned;
    • Document reflections, success stories among Fellows and their institutions for purposes of KAICIID promotions, programme reports, internal network communications and the quarterly KFN Newsletter.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • University degree, professional certification or significant professional experience in social sciences, religious studies, humanities, international relations, or communication.  
  • Additional background and expertise in religious studies, comparative religion, interreligious dialogue is desirable;
  • Familiarity with KAICIID;
  • Ability to work remotely and deliver timely results;
  • Experience in planning, implementing and delivering trainings (especially in IRD and/or related subjects);
  • Proven networking skills, and ability to model and motivate the professional poise and dialogical approach of KAICIID among Fellows and Fellows alumni;
  • Knowledge and understanding of religious and interreligious educational institutions and seminaries in the region;
  • Strong communication and networking skills;
  • Excellent writing skills, with analytical capacity and ability to interpret date, draw statistics from evaluations and synthesize data in preparation of quality reports;
  • Commitment to continuous learning and sharing knowledge;

  • Commitment to highest ethical standards and human rights.

LANGUAGES

English and French proficiency (written and spoken).

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT

The selected candidate will be offered a consultancy contract for a period of 6 months. The estimated number of working hours is 15-20 per week. KAICIID will offer a monthly fee based on the United Nations salary scale for the National Professionals applicable in the country of the selected candidate.
