Overall purpose of the role: The main responsibility of this position is to support the operation of the Urban Hub (information and support center for Returnees affected population) with data collection, storage, processing and analysis through appropriate information management (IM) systems and tools,

Responsibilities:  
 
Conduct first screening of all beneficiaries accessing the hub 
Direct beneficiaries to the correct DRC counsellor, if applicable 
Refer beneficiary to DRC protection team, if applicable 
Provide referral to other NGOs for services not provided at the Hub 
Provide information about Hub services to beneficiaries 
Able and willing to service both male and female beneficiaries. 
Provide relevant support to implement program related activities including but not limited to protection activities in Hub Jalalabad, Nangarhar province  
Provide support with data entry and ensure timeliness and accuracy of all entered data. 
Generate reports (graphs, charts, tables, etc.) from the available data and prepare statistical analysis. 
Work closely with M&E colleagues to ensure that the IM tools and systems used by Protection team are in line with the projects IS&E plans and is able to provide required data and analysis.  
Provide training to DRC Protection staff in how to access and use the databases and information management tools as required. 
Ensure high standard of data protection and confidentiality of beneficiaries and of the staff involved in data collection. 
Support DRC Protection team in the operation and maintenance of computers, printers and other hardware and software related to programme activities. 
Comply with the requirements and standards of the DRC-DDG, a code of conduct and safety procedures. 
Perform other relevant tasks as required.
* Under the guidance and supervision of Hub Team Leader in Jalalabad, set up and maintain databases and information management (IM) systems  
 
 
Experience and technical competencies:  
  • At least 1-2 years program related field and has adequate knowledge on managing database and/or information management or other activities related to the responsibilities of the position. 
  • Demonstrated experience in developing well-functioning and user-friendly databases and/or information management tools. 

 Education:

  • University degree, preferably in Computer Science, IT, communications or other relevant technical field.
  • Familiarity with Java and experience working with online based IM systems/tools.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, ability to design Excel based information management tools and produce user-friendly reports and analysis.
  • Ability to clearly express one’s thoughts, to analyze and present information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to set priorities and show initiative, to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
 
Languages: Good knowledge of English and fluency in Pashto,

We offer:

• DRC will offer the successful applicant a contract till the end of 2018, extendable based on funding and performance.
