 The USAID-funded Pakistan Reading Project (PRP), implemented by the International Rescue Committee (IRC) as prime agency and its partners (Creative Associates International, World Learning, and Institute of Rural Management), is a seven-year project with the objective to support the provincial and regional departments of education (DoE) throughout Pakistan to improve reading skills of children in grades one and two. The project aims to achieve this goal through three distinct but interrelated components that work in synergy to affect the quality of early grade education: improved classroom learning environment for reading, improved policies and systems for reading, and community based support for reading in Pakistan.

Job Overview/Summary

The receptionist is the first point of contact for IRC-Pakistan Reading Project. As such, a primary role of the receptionist is to project a positive and professional image of the organization by properly greeting/directing visitors and telephone calls received on office landlines.

Major Responsibilities:

.Greet visitors appropriately and direct/escort them to the appropriate person and office

·Answer, screen and forward incoming phone calls

·Ensure reception area is tidy and presentable, with all necessary stationery and material

·Provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone/email

·Receive, sort and distribute daily mail/deliveries. Manage and record outgoing mail.

·Book conference and meeting halls for various departments

·Follow office safety/security procedures by controlling access via the reception desk

·Maintain directory of landline numbers and physical addresses of relevant/related organizations and IRC and PRP partners offices around Pakistan

·Maintain update list of internal extension line.

·Perform other duties such as filing, photocopying and scanning of documents etc

·Whenever require, assist Admin Officer with tasks such as flight booking/hotel reservation/stationary issue and preparation of support staff time sheets etc.

Qualifications

·Graduation

·Customer service oriented

·Excellent verbal and written communication

·Proficient in Microsoft office

·At-least one year experience of telephone handling; office work; and/or office assistance. Experience in similar capacity will be preferred
