The Dorcas International Office is situated in the Netherlands. We also have 12 country offices in Africa, the Middle East and in Eastern Europe. Together with some 400 colleagues, thousands of volunteers and dozens of partner organizations we reach out to over 600.000 of the most vulnerable and poorest people.

The organization has a Supervisory Board consisting of five Members who meet six times a year in the presence of the Members of the Executive Board (i.e. Statutory Directors).

THE ROLE

Together with the CEO you form the Executive Board of the organization. Your primary area of attention is operations (Finance, ICT, HR, Internal Organization). The CEO is focusing on external positioning, representation, partnerships and innovations. Together you are responsible for the development of the vision in consultation with the other leaders in the organization and to translate this into strategy. You contribute to and ensure that the internal organization and processes are adequate and that initiated plans and developments are successfully completed and secured.  You play the pivotal role in ensuring that there is clear purpose and plan, defining focus and prioritizing, taking initiatives, finalizing, inappropriate organizational development and continuous implementation.  ICT, system policy and process management are the tools you use for optimal internal communication and motivating and connecting with staff. As Member of the Executive Board, you are in close cooperation with the Financial Manager, responsible for the financial policies, risk management and compliance. Together with the CEO you  are leading the Country Directors.

THE CANDIDATE

You have a University Degree in Business Administration or similar. You have wide experience in operational leadership of an internationally operating and complex organization. You have good knowledge of and experience in the areas of Finance, HR, ICT, project-oriented operations and organizational development. As a connecting leader you are stimulating and strong, you can communicate clearly and effectively while achieving impact and maintain support. You have an eye for details as well as for the overall picture. You are strong in organizing and planning, see risks, and can put on the brakes as well as accelerate. In a team you take the role of finalizer, monitor, connector, analyst and stabilizer. You do have an excellent command of English, in speaking and writing. You carry the mission and vision of Dorcas in your heart. You have a strong Christian faith and you are an active member of your local church.

The first orientating interviews will take place in the weeks with number 8 and 9, 2019.
The first round of interviews with the selection committee will take place in week 10, 2019.
The second round of interviews with the advisory and selection committees will take place in week 11, 2019.
The contract will be signed at the latest March 29, 2019.
