Purpose of the position

 

WHO Country Office Myanmar, Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) team is supporting Central Expanded Program on Immunization (cEPI), Department of Public Health, Ministry of Health and Sports (MoHS) in strengthening Vaccine Preventable Disease surveillance and Immunization activities.

 

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

 

    

The Data Assistant will work under the direct supervision of Technical Officer (EPI), WHO country office Myanmar in collaboration and coordination with NPOs and Executive Assistant (Data Management), EPI Team and working closely with Disease Surveillance & Epidemiology (DSE) Team and Emergency Risk Management (ERM) Team. This incumbent will be responsible for the following tasks\:

 

  • Assist in collecting monthly disease outbreak data and routine EPI data from health facilities for Union Territories, States and Regions.

  • Assist in compilation of the disease outbreak data and routine immunization data from Union Territories States and Regions for accuracy, quality, and timeliness, and providing feedback to States and Regions and RSO units

  • Enter Vaccine Preventable Diseases data in SEARO database and any DSE/ILI (Influenza like illness) data as required.

  • Assist in updating of EPI community master list by health facilities.

  • Assist in producing DSE maps, immunization coverage maps, charts, graphs, and other reports based on data gathered.

  • Perform any additional data analysis, and QGIS mapping as needed.

  • Perform relieving of duties during the absence of Executive Assistant (Data Management)

  • Perform any other duties as required by WHO.

  • To submit assignment report quarterly.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Essential\: 
  • University degree

  • Training on IT and Data Management. 

  • Advanced knowledge on Windows Operating System, Microsoft Office Suite (MS Access, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint), Knowledge of SQL, GIS mapping and distributive database is essential. 


 Desirable \:  

 

Experience

Essential\: 
  • Minimum three years of relevant experience, preferably in any UN organization, International Organization or Government Offices.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well as a team member


Desirable\:

  •  
  • Knowledge of other advanced public health statistical software an advantage.

 

 

Use of language skills

Essential\: 
  • Good knowledge of English and excellent knowledge of Myanmar Language.
