The Head of Fundraising leads on the development and implementation of TI’s fundraising strategies and approaches towards all donor segments ensuring income growth and diversification.

Transparency International (TI) is the global civil society organisation leading the fight against corruption. In collaboration with more than 100 chapters worldwide and an international secretariat (TI-S) in Berlin, Germany, TI raises awareness of the damaging effects of corruption and works with partners in government, business and civil society to develop and implement effective measures to tackle it.

We are looking for an exceptional individual to lead our fundraising area of work. You will be a mature and seasoned fundraising executive, with a wealth of experience and contacts, and with an excellent record of accomplishment in growing and diversifying income. Your career aspiration lies solely with fundraising and this is your only focus. You will be at a point in your career where your interest is in supporting an organisation such as Transparency international to achieve sustainability. Collaboration and collegiality is your second nature, preceded only by your ability to raise and diversify funds.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead on the development of the overall fundraising strategy from a variety of sources and oversee its implementation
  • Grow the income in line with the strategic priorities set by Board and by TI-S Senior Management Team
  • Increase, diversify and sustain the donor base and drive fundraising towards a diversified and sustainable portfolio
  • Maintain outstanding relationships with existing donors and develop new relationships with potential donors
  • Support the streamlining of fundraising efforts across TI-S through professionalization of fundraising techniques, tools, approaches and processes
  • Provide effective leadership to the Fundraising Team

 

Knowledge, experience and skills:

  • University degree or professional qualification in social science, public policy or administration, international relations, business administration, marketing, and/or other relevant fields
  • 10+ years of professional experience in resource development, ideally in diversified markets, and of which at least 5 years at senior level
  • Demonstrated record of accomplishment in setting targets, meeting fundraising goals, and of exceeding expectations in terms of income growth
  • Demonstrable experience in managing multicultural fundraising teams
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including experience and comfort relating to senior leaders and decision makers, and an ability to work collaboratively in a team setting with people from different backgrounds
  • Knowledge of, or considerable interest in, the work of Transparency International and the field of anti-corruption
  • Excellent communication, impeccable presentation and strong networking skills
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of other languages, in particular Spanish, French, and/or Arabic, an asset
  • Willingness to travel
