ESPBC originated from the unique mission and vision to stimulate the local economy in Ethiopia and to share specialized knowledge. Since 2004, ESPBC has been active as a steel processing company in Ethiopia. Approximately 115 employees work at the Debre Zeit factory, which is an hour's drive from the capital Addis Ababa. ESPBC supplies the local market with steel profiles, roofing sheets and other construction materials.
There is a strong ambition to grow and the market in Ethiopia offers plenty of opportunities. The organization has recently invested extensively in the production capacity and is now ready to progress to the next phase.
Position

You will have the opportunity to further expand the company together with the committed shareholders, an ambitious local management team and enthusiastic employees. Together with the shareholders you determine the course of the organization and ensure the successful realization of the strategy. As General Manager you are end responsible for the day-to-day affairs and oversee the management team that consists of the Sales Manager, Finance Manager, HR Manager, Production Manager and Logistics Manager.
Key responsibilities
The General Manager, under the supervision of the shareholders, has the following responsibilities:
- Together with the shareholders you determine the strategy and ensure the successful execution of the annual plans.
- You are end responsible for the day-to-day running of the factory.
- You lead the management team and together with them you oversee to the organization.
- You are responsible for the financial management of the organization, prepare budgets and ensure correct compliance.
- In relevant networks you are the face of the organization (suppliers, government, banks, embassy and other entrepreneurs in the region).
- You coach and encourage the employees to develop themselves and excel in their profession.
- You safeguard the organizational culture in which mutual respect, appreciation and consideration, a teachable attitude, an organizational family feeling, job satisfaction and clear communication are central.
- You participate in solving common challenges that a production company in Ethiopia can face.
Qualifications
- A minimum of a BSc. degree in business management, engineering or other relevant fields.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant management experience preferably in a technical or production environment.
- Experience in managing organizational and operational processes.
- Knowledge of and experience with financial management and budgets.
- Preferably experience with working in an international and cross-cultural context.
- Proven affinity with social entrepreneurship.
- Analytical thinking skills, decisive, stress-resistant and flexible.
- Results-oriented, vision and the ability to create a mutual connection between people.
- You work independently and are able to solve problems expeditiously.
- You are a servant leader and have the capacity and experience to lead, coach and build teams from different backgrounds, empowering them to elevate their level of responsibility, span-of-control, performance and personal growth.
- Excellent command of the English language, both oral and written.
- Full support of the mission and vision of the organization.
- You live and work according to your Christian beliefs.
