Iraq Program

ICMP is implementing a multi-year project in Iraq to support authorities in their efforts to account for persons missing as a result of armed conflict and violations of human rights.

Vacancy Background

The Logistics and Procurement Assistant is a full-time position in Baghdad. The successful incumbent will be responsible to ensure the effective and systematic implementation of the ICMP procurement policy, travel policy within the Iraq program specific instructions. The incumbent will be pro-active in providing quality administrative and logistics support for the program events and field activities.

Reporting to the Head of Mission Support, and working in close consultation with the Mission Support Manager, the main duties and responsibilities will be the following:

  • Process and receive acquisition requisitions (AR), purchase orders (PO) and tenders
  • Create, check and compile offers and procurement information, tabulate offer information, technical details and prices, check completeness of bids, and verify dates and request additional details from suppliers
  • Draft POs, tenders and contracts for signature
  • Carry out market surveys for purchase of goods and services; maintain and update supplier’s list. Liaise with vendors and international organization’s
  • Maintain a procurement filing system
  • Implement the ICMP official travel policy
  • Organizes logistics, maintenance and repair for the office and accommodation premises
  • Provide logistics, supply and facility management support for the ICMP office, events and field activities
  • Replace the Finance and Administration Officer when required
  • Perform other related duties as requested

Requirements

  • High school diploma, a university degree is an asset
  • At least six years of previous experience in procurement, finance, logistics and administration
  • Professional fluency in Arabic and English
  • Strong analytical, report and administrative writing skills
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Previous experience working in an international organization is an asset
  • Legally entitled to work in Iraq

  • Willingness to travel and to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings, when necessary
  • Commitment to the underlying objective of assisting the authorities and families of the missing in locating and identifying missing persons in an impartial and transparent manner
  • Capacity and willingness to work in sometimes challenging circumstances and under hardship living conditions
