JOB PURPOSE

To provide first level technical support for efficient planning, monitoring and analysis of the Global Commodity Management Facility (GCMF) as well as CSPs financial performance to enhance optimal use of financial resources.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

  1. GCMF
    1. Carry out first level review of food related assignment plans (AP)  submitted by Country Offices i.e.  check donor conditions, grant balances, programming rates and AP version.
    2. Ensure proper update and maintenance of the (AP) tracking sheet.
    3. Track the programming status of the submitted AP, to Headquaters, and of sales orders issuance.
    4. Provide copies of sales order issued as requested. At times, some staff don’t receive them.
    5. Capture, in a note for the record (NFR), the main points discussed and agreed at the GCMF replenishment meeting.
    6. Follow up on the NFR action plans.
    7. Provide support to the HoU in the design of the new AP replenishment tool for CO’s feedback.
    8. Provide support to the GCMF focal point in a design of a new reporting template to provide an status update on GCMF for SCWG.
    9. Attend GCMF related meetings as required.
  1. Budget Planning Tool (BPT)
    1. Support in capturing CPB data in the BPT as required.
    2. Extract and provide BPT budget reports to different stakeholders as requested.
  2. Information and Data Management
    1. Carry out an analysis of the internal Pipeline drive on the folders available and together with the BPO team determine the new structure; and update accordingly.
    2. File all advance request, APs and other documents to ensure that all folders are updated and available to all team members.
  3. Pipeline Support
    1. Provide support with the pipeline related tasks as needed.
  4. Funds Management and Budgeting
    1. Provide support with funds management related tasks as needed.
  5. Other related duties as required.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently enrolled and have attended University courses in the last 12 months inclusive of having completed at least two years of undergraduate studies or have recently graduated in the last 6 months in Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement or related field
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point);
  • Fluent in English

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • Interns receive a monthly stipend from WFP up to the maximum amount of US$1000 per month depending on the duty station of assignment. 
  • WFP is not responsible for living expenses, arrangements for accommodation, necessary visas and related costs.
  • Depending on the duty station of assignment, WFP will reimburse travel ticket for candidates who are nationals of developing countries and are pursuing their studies in their home country.
  • WFP will recognize candidates’ educational credentials from recognised institutions that have been certified by competent international or national authorities such as the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) or Ministries of Education;
