This position is advertised open to internal and external applicants.

NOTE: For GSC Budapest, the required years of work experience is reduced to 50%, i.e. 3 years. The period of a completed and relevant minimum first level university degree (equivalent to BA) shall count for no more than 50% of the required work experience. Priority will be given to eligible applicants meeting the full requirements.

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT
Affiliate Partnerships and Recruitment Section (APRS) takes the lead in all recruitment.

The Recruitment Associate is part of the Recruitment Unit of APRS and performs under direct supervision of the Associate Recruitment Officer who defines general work objectives and provides necessary advice and guidance.  The incumbent keeps frequent contacts with job candidates and hiring managers to exchange information and provide advice.

FUNCTIONAL STATEMENT
Accountability
- The Recruitment Team provides support in  in the selection process, , assists candidates and hiring managers, obtains references, screens candidates, tests candidates, supports on boarding new staff, verifies credentials, sources & posts positions, assists with background checks and  maintains files.
- A client oriented approach is used to address the issues and perform the activities.

Responsibility
- Provide first line support to job applicants, candidates, and hiring managers.
- Provide appropriate information regarding job application, hiring process, training material, policy and/or procedures.
- Understand functionality of job application process and online job application system and provide assistance to applicants.
- Utilize resume database for tracking candidates.  Assist in contacting potential applicants using multiple communication tools, including social media and maintain the contact with the candidates
- Manage candidates' pipeline, pre-screen/screen applicants, conduct suitability/grading and enrol/organize testing. Maintain processing dispositions updated in MSRP and/or in spreadsheets.
- Liaise with outreach team to provide inputs to adjust the in-outreach based on the needs and the trend.
- Provide inputs to the screening company.
- Communicates with managers and recruiters regarding candidate flow.
- Assist with any step of the recruitment process, liaising with PAPS and/or Assignment Section, ensure that on boarding requirements are met.
- Assist in the submission of third party labour resource requests.
- Assist in obtaining required reference checks.
- Coordinate and participate in job fair events by registering, preparing recruitment materials, ordering supplies and maintaining database.
- Assist with projects, programs, and tasks that require data gathering, reviews data, and presents findings, 
- Maintain highest level of confidentiality regarding all matters of posting, short listing and selection processes. 
- Perform other related duties as required.

Authority
- Release screened-in candidates for the review by the managers.
- Validate list of screened-in candidates provided by the screening company.
- Represent UNHCR in recruitment activities.

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Completion of secondary education with training/certificate in Business Administration, Personnel Administration/Human Resources Management or related field.
- Minimum 6 years of relevant work experience, including with entry-level professional recruitment programmes.
- Good knowledge of recruitment best practices and tools to hire the best talents.
- Experience in using social media platforms for recruitment, including recruitment branding.
- High IT affinity with excellent computer skills and working knowledge in PeopleSoft/MSRP and MS office software.
- Communication skills.
- Excellent knowledge of English (written/oral/comprehension).

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
- Good knowledge of UN Administration and procedures/processes, and exposure to provision of support services in an international organization.
- Knowledge of UN and UNHCR¿s HR policies.
- Proficient in online search methodologies such as "Boolean search".
- Working knowledge of French, Arabic or another official UN language. Competencies as defined in Job Profile Please also note that excellent knowledge of English (written/oral/comprehension) is essential and working knowledge of French, Arabic or another official UN language is desirable for this Job Opening.
