Position Description
The Rippel Foundation seeks a program coordinator to work on various assignments across the Foundation.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a curious individual with experience in project management. We are looking for a candidate with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and an eagerness to learn in this role. The ideal candidate will demonstrate curiosity, independent initiative, and impeccable attention to detail. This is a full-time position.
Organization
At The Rippel Foundation, we envision a cohesive system of health that focuses on health and well-being, not just health care; one that is thriving, equitable, and sustainable. The Foundation was established in 1953 to invest in initiatives addressing cancer, heart disease, the health of women and the elderly, and the maintenance of our nation’s hospitals. To accomplish this vision and mission, we work with national and regional stewards to design and execute the strategies they need to guide transformative change and produce better health and well-being for all.
Background
At The Rippel Foundation, we work with national and regional stewards to purpose these system impacts:
- A compelling, shared vision of a cohesive system of health to drive institutional decision-making
- New mindsets to enact new policies, practices, programs, and investment priorities
- Effective work across boundaries to produce health and well-being together
- Shared responsibility for ensuring needed resources are available to transition to a cohesive system of health and well-being.
For almost ten years, ReThink Health, one of the core initiatives of The Rippel Foundation, has been advancing the knowledge and tools needed to support diverse groups of regional leaders in their efforts to innovate and find ways to bridge health and well-being so their communities can thrive. Founded in 2007 by some of the nation’s most influential leaders in health, politics, business, and energy, ReThink Health asserts that regional stewards (people or organizations) need to work together to intentionally take responsibility for facilitating the cross-sector collaboration and alignment that creates the conditions for lasting change, including equitable opportunities for everyone to reach their potential for health and well-being.
To help stewards with their work, ReThink Health develops practical models, tools, processes, and coaching strategies that help them to transform their health systems. These models and tools are focused on helping changemakers to take on three challenges critical to regional reform:
- building more effective and broad-based stewardship teams;
- developing and implementing promising strategies for change; and
- pursuing financing approaches that ensure change is sustained over time.
The foundation’s newest initiative, FORESIGHT: Designing a Future for Health, is building a cross-sector, cross-regional team of people committed to envisioning and bringing about a new future for health. The initiative, created with Blue Shield of California Foundation, is supported by forward-thinking national and regional philanthropic partners. Launched in fall 2018, FORESIGHT will proceed in two phases. Phase I cultivates the vision, wisdom, and leadership needed to bring about that new future by working collaboratively, inclusively, and imaginatively. Phase II builds action agendas that will bring that vision to reality.
Working with multiple teams across the Foundation, the Program Coordinator will support the development and implementation of programmatic projects and/or initiatives with the communications and evaluation teams.
