Finance Officer-Banking (national position)

Malteser International is working in Myanmar since 2001 and currently employs more than 350 national staff in Rakhine, Shan and Kayin states. Our work aims at ensuring communities have access to primary health care services. We also offer comprehensive WASH and disaster risk reduction/climate change adaptation solutions, and provide relief after disasters. We strive to enable and empower the most vulnerable communities in marginalized areas through a participatory and sustainable approach.

 

 

 
In support of our work in Yangon, Myanmar, Malteser International is looking for a motivated Finance Officer-Banking (national position).

As a Finance Officer, you will be responsible to manage all day-to-day Finance transactions of the Programs/projects to ensure effective program implementation within MI Finance policies and procedures and donor requirements. Also you will assist the Country Finance Coordinator in providing efficient Health management for improved ministry quality and achievement of overall organizational objective.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the financial processes and financial records of the project are in line with Malteser and donor guidelines and requirements
  • Deal with all administrative matters related to banking (change of signatory powers, biannual bank visit, etc.)
  • Preparation of the monthly 6+4 cash request in cooperation with all locations and HQ
  • Handling of foreign currencies cash/advances, AYA online banking system
  • Enter all cash and bank transactions into Fundtrac light accounting software
  • Maintain proper filing systems for financial records and documents

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in accounting and or equivalent professional level
  • At least 3 years working experience in related field
  • Experienced using financial software and advanced MS Excel skills excellent
  • Good communication and able to work in under pressure and work in a multicultural context
  • Occasional visits to field bases for follow-up and supervision of compliance with financial regulations at field basesPrevious working experience at NGOs/UN agency is a strong asset

Conditions:

  • Start date: June 1st, 2019
  • Duty Station: Yangon, Myanmar
  • Duration of contract: 1 year (extendable) due to donor approval
  • Salary according to qualification and experience: 14th Month Salary & Health Insurance
