NRC in the Islamic Republic Iran

NRC started operations in Iran in 2012. We currently deliver humanitarian assistance in 8 provinces in the sectors of Education, Food Security and livelihoods, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Shelter construction, as well as Information, Counselling and Legal Assistance (ICLA). We co-lead several technical inter-agency working groups and provide capacity building to humanitarian partners in country. Next to our programs, NRC Iran also built an advocacy unit to develop joint messages and initiatives amongst INGOs to improve rights of the displaced.

Following several recent breakthroughs, NRC Iran is scaling up substantially its activities in support of the Government of Iran efforts towards an estimated 3,6 million Afghans residing in country and is expanding its programme unit.

About the position: Logistics Assistant - (Kerman)

NRC is now seeking a dedicated/experienced Logistics Assistant to achieve quality programming in Iran. The Logistics Assistant will support all Logistics activities under supervision of Logistics Coordinator in Kerman.

Task Description:

• Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
• Assist with the implementation of the support function portfolio according to the work plan
• Prepare and develop Logistics reports as required by management
• Promote and share ideas for improvement of the support function
• Draft and dispatch quotation requests and/or tenders and provide support in timely management and selection of suppliers and vendors according to NRC standard procurement procedures.
• Support in management of NRC’s transportation needs and fleet by providing timely and adequate oversight and inputs for coverage of the transportation needs in accordance with NRC’s standard guidelines;
• Keep updated inventories of office and equipment and supplies and provide timely processing of updates and orders. Ensure NRC’s office assets keep in good working conditions and properly tagged and NRC logistics records properly filed and maintained.
• Provide required transportation services for the missions to Kerman.
• Travel to project locations for final acceptance of projects where logistics inputs required for handover to government;

 Qualifications

•   Previous experience from working in complex, volatile contexts, and fast pace environments
•   Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
•   Good command of English and Persian, both written and spoken
•   Good knowledge of computer and IT systems is an advantage
•   Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, MS Project …)
•   Knowledge of inventory and assets management

We Offer

Duty Station: Kerman

Contract duration/until: End of 2019 with extension possibility.
