We are based in Gouda, the Netherlands and in Washington D.C. Our international team of nine experienced consultants – ten including you – provides our partners with the best tools and knowledge available to increase their impact. As Junior Fundraising Consultant, you will join our U.S. Office team and work under the supervision of the U.S. Head of Office.
Job Details
The position will include direct support to HVFC in their U.S. Office as well as multiple days per week dedicated to a major client, Free a Girl. Free a Girl is based in Haarlem, the Netherlands and in Mumbai, India and strives for a world without commercial sexual exploitation of children. You will be their first official representation in the U.S.
Job responsibilities:
You will be responsible for the following:
· Supporting on our clients in their fundraising activities mainly focused on foundations and high-net-worth individuals (grant writing, co-organizing fundraisers, managing donor relationships);
· Participating in the analysis of potential funding opportunities;
· Identifying client needs and offering strategic solutions;
· Managing Free a Girl's relationship-building and fundraising in the U.S. - as the first contact for all U.S. donors, partners and supporters, contact with government, website and social media management, etc.;
· Occasional (multiweek) travel to European office and to clients, such as Free a Girl in the Netherlands;
· Coordinating logistics for partner roadshows;
· Completing administrative tasks, such as scheduling, billing, notetaking and drafting meeting summaries, among others;
· Contributing to donor mapping and strategic planning efforts;
· Supporting the Head of U.S. Office in monitoring, evaluation, and learning efforts including research and analysis, template and process design, and strategic planning; and
· Drafting proposals, reviewing budgets, and communicating with clients.
Qualifications
· 1-3 years’ experience in international development;
· University Degree in a relevant field;
· Impact- and results-driven;
· Strong communicator with analytical and organizational skills
· Excellent intercultural communication skills;
· Experience and/or interest working with international teams in different time zones;
· Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple activities and timelines across multiple projects;
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
· A strong desire to contribute to the fight against commercial sexual exploitation of children;
· Excellent (near) native written and spoken English;
Timeline
· The position will start in early August.
