The EIB, the European Union's bank, is seeking for its Operations Directorate - Neighbouring Countries Department - Implementation Unit
at its headquarters in Luxembourg:
TRAINEE
Duration: 5 months (fixed start date: 01st November 2019)

Please note that you are requested to limit your applications to a maximum of three traineeship publications. We will only consider and retain the first three applications submitted.
Objective of the traineeship
The objective of the traineeship is to conduct an in-depth analysis of the existing portfolio of signed operations by country and sector in the neighboring region. The aim is to obtain a clear overview of the status of operations signed not fully disbursed and the level of implementation of the project. With the support of Operational Analysts, you will have to provide a status on each operation.
The analysis will also include a list of operations with blending instruments and identification of next steps. Depending on the time available, you would be exposed to some standard statistics preparation and would assist in updates of presentations.
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Head of Unit and senior colleagues, you will participate actively in the Unit’s core activities. Your main tasks will be:
- Set-up list of operations not yet disbursed and prepare the action plan with the support of Operational Analysts and the Head of Unit;
- Prepare a detailed list of operations with blending instruments and update it on a regular basis;
- Prepare some statistics for Vice Presidents' or Head of Divisions' meetings;
- Support the team with ad hoc tasks such as contribution to Country meetings ;
- Provide assistance for presentations and organization of workshops.
Academic qualifications and professional skills
- Final year of studies or University degree in Economics or Business;
- Previous work experience/traineeship in a bank or an audit firm is considered as an advantage;
- Excellent knowledge of standard Microsoft Office tools (Windows, MS Office);
- Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and/or French. Any other language will be an asset, especially Russian.
