SENIOR MANAGER

Operations & Impact at Scale The International Potato Center (CIP) is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Manager Operations & Impact at Scale to support the implementation of regional strategy for LAC.

About the role:

This position will be based in Lima, Peru and will report to the Regional Director for LAC. The person selected will be working in close collaboration with the science team, lead the delivery of development solutions in close collaboration with the regional science team and in partnership with the Regional Director, ensuring the effective execution of operational services and impact at scale in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Key responsibilities:

Impact at scale and Innovation management

• Design a regional approach to Impact at Scale including through private sector engagement, governmental alliances and partnerships for uptake.

• Provide leadership to Country Managers to ensure regional approach has local impact and relevance. • Actively engage with different communities - ranging from conservation, food and extractive industries and university networks, to plan new research for development models.

• Implement science program delivery in engagement countries and provide feedback to science team on local development needs.

• Lead systems innovation training and development for LAC staff.

• Lead and/or support resource mobilization in LAC region, seeking out new collaboration opportunities aligned with LAC strategy

• Actively contribute to packaging science solutions in ways that are attractive, actionable and investible for delivery

Business Management & Leadership

• Develop, execute and monitor CIP - LAC business plan based on an assessment of the key resource requirements to achieve target research outputs and outcomes.

• Ensure implementation of operation management strategies, adapts processes and procedures focusing on achievement of results such as performance indicators, full compliance of CIP rules and regulations and follow up of audits.

• Partner with Department in HQ: FIN, HR, IT, S&R, G&C, PMU to model standards and behaviors to build knowledge across LAC country offices.

• Compile monthly reports on status of operations in the region and follow up on action points from regional management team meetings.

• Create a work atmosphere conducive to professional growth and development of excellent personnel at all levels.

• Promoteaccountability byconductingstaff annualperformancereviewswithdirectsuperviseesandensuring that all staff members are effectively using the performance planning and management system. • Contribute to project team-building efforts and ensure the integration of all team members into relevant decision-making processes.

Operational management

• Finance and Compliance: Ensure operating costs are included in operating budgets and funding proposals and the programmatic growth or scale downs are factored into operations planning. As well, ensure that all

support systems and operations teams are operating in accordance with donor compliance regulations. • HR: Provide leadership to the staff and administration team and ensuring the application of best practices and its compliance.

• IT: Based on compressive needs assessments ensure that all digital data and information needs of operations

and program teams are catered for.

• Logistics: Ensure an efficient and responsive supply chain system that meets the needs of program teams.

• Security & Risk: Ensure the highest security & risk management through participatory threat and risk analysis

and the development and implementation of standard operating procedures.

What are we looking for?

• MBA or comparable qualification with 5-8 years of experience in similar positions in project-based

organizations.

• Prior work experience in achieving results on the ground in more than one world region.

• Strong professionalexperience inmanagement offinancialresourcespreferably inanon-profitenvironment.

• Proven experience and knowledge in Systems Innovation.

• Familiar with general finance and budgeting, including profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow

management.

• Familiar with the management of high-performance multicultural teams.

• Demonstrated people management and team building skills.

• Superb written communication skills in English, with a knowledge of Spanish preferred.
