STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: 

Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in the related functional area is desirable.

Experience:

Minimum of three years of core extensive logistics operations, responsible support experience including at least one year in the field of, transport, insurance, statistics, operations or another related field.

Language:  

Fluency in both oral and written communication in English. Knowledge of Arabic language is an advantage.

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

Under the overall guidance of UNHRD hub manager and direct supervision of the Pharmacist on pharmaceutical good storage and distribution practices/ Senior Warehouse Management Associate on warehouse operations, the incumbent, based in Dubai-UAE, will be responsible for all warehouse and inventory management aspects of products stored on behalf of UNHRD partners in line with the following duties:

JOB PURPOSE

To deliver standard business support processes for a specific professional area of work, to facilitate effective service delivery.  

Job Title: Business Support Assistant (Logistics)

Level: SC 4

Salary: Starting from AED 12,999.60 per month (inclusive of pension), plus medical insurance and other entitlements.  

Duration of Employment: 12 months with possibility of extension

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
  • Complies with good storage and distribution practices guidelines, according to WFP/WHO rules and regulations, in all warehouse aspects and processes.
  • Performs inventory management tasks with accuracy and integrity during all receipt and shipping procedures, based on ‘First In First Out’ as defined in WFP/UNHRD Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Adheres to accurate and complete accounting and reporting of internal control systems and ensures that all relevant records are properly maintained.
  • Performs all warehouse related transactions from goods receipt, storage to dispatch in the warehouse management system on a timely manner.
  • Provides support to logistics operations.
  • Prepares the stock for year end physical inventory count and assist the counting team to complete the exercise.
  • Guides and train the daily helpers and cleaners on good storage practices.
  • Carries out all shipment’s preparation in a timely manner to achieve quick dispatch of relief aid in the event of emergency.
