WFP seeks candidates of the highest integrity and professionalism who share our humanitarian principles
Selection of staff is made on a competitive basis, and we are committed to promoting diversity and gender balance
The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is the world's largest humanitarian agency, fighting hunger worldwide. We are seeking to fill a consultancy position of Business Engagement Manager for Supply Chain based at our Headquarters in Rome, Italy.
Technology Division (TEC) is the nervous system of WFP, connecting staff with each other and with our beneficiaries, donors and partners. Running all vital IT systems, TEC serves as the main driver for continuity of operations, efficiency gains and innovations that empower staff globally to effectively implement the Strategic Plan. Within TEC, the Business Engagement team plays a key role in the digital transformation of WFP by partnering with all parts of the organization in order to identify gaps, set priorities, improve user experience, and scale up digital approaches that enhance business efficiency and operational impact. The Business Engagement team also works behind the scenes to continuously seek opportunities to modernize, integrate, and streamline WFP’s digital ecosystem. Within this context, the Consultant will work on the TEC Business Engagement team, supporting a thematic group of WFP teams to strategically plan and invest in technology, manage and leverage those investments, while working with other TEC teams to ensure a coordinated approach
The Business Engagement Manager will manage the demand for technology with Supply Chain, working closely with the Supply Chain Systems Unit (SCSU). The Consultant, while having a good understanding of SC structure and business processes (including in protracted and sudden-onset emergency settings), will develop a deep understanding of the evolving business and technological needs across Supply Chain, building trust and ensuring that essential projects are prioritized and coordinated.
