We define success as the ability to help people survive, recover and gain control of their lives. The International Rescue Committee helps people whose lives and livelihoods are shattered by conflict and disaster to survive, recover and regain control of their future. The IRC is committed to a culture of bold leadership, innovation in all aspects of our work, creative partnerships and, most crucially, accountability to those we serve who are the world’s most vulnerable in the most crisis affected places around the world. Our Vision is to lead the humanitarian field by implementing high-impact, cost effective programmes for people affected by crisis, and by using our experience to shape policy and push for change. There has been considerable growth for IRC Europe over the last three years, not least in response to our expanding role as a thought leader on refugee issues as well as a deliberate strategy to diversify our influence across Europe. We are seeking a Senior Vice President, IRC Europe, reporting to the CEO and President of IRC, to ensure a strong European perspective is built into the highest levels of IRC global decision-making; and to be an ambassador for IRC; an enabler of funding growth, strategy, influence, profile and innovation in Europe; and the coordinator of all IRC efforts and activities across Europe. This represents an exciting opportunity to join an organisation with dynamic leadership and significant growth potential. The successful candidate will demonstrate significant experience in leading and managing complex organisations, excellent fundraising skills, and a track record of advocacy and influencing. An ability to build strong relationships across a complex stakeholder map and fluent diplomatic and negotiation skills are essential, alongside a clear passion and commitment to the mission and values of the IRC.
