The Education Pathways to Peace in Mindanao (Pathways) Program works closely with the transitioning government to support enhancing K-3 education outcomes and peacebuilding in the region.
About the position
The aim of this exciting position is to ensure all operational obligations under the Managing Contractor's contract with the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) are fulfilled and to oversight all program operations. This position will also critically support the Team Leader to implement and manage the program more generally.

Requirements
The following are essential and desirable attributes in terms of skills and experience needed to perform this role successfully.
- Demonstrated ability to manage people across cultures and strong management experience.
- Previous experience managing large and complex development assistance partnerships.
- Demonstrated ability to pro-actively lead an operations unit in support of a large development program in a challenging political and operational environment
- Strong understanding of financial management and fiduciary risk management.
- Experience in reporting to and meeting contractual obligations of donors.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement sound procurement systems and practices in an efficient and timely manner.
- Demonstrated initiative, drive and results focus.
- Eligibility to obtain a Philippines visa (or status as Philippine National)
- Understanding of gender and development issues (desirable)
- Understanding of education sector issues, particularly those relevant to the BARMM (desirable)
- Previous experience working in Philippines and ideally, Muslim Mindanao (desirable) Important
