Description of task

Under the direct supervision of Regional Engineering Officer_ Mopti Sector Centre), the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

  • Review all received designs, Bills of Quantities, highlight discrepancies between design and site “if any”;
  • Develop detailed resource requirement as needed for all approved tasks/projects including but not limited to equipment, human resources, and material;
  • Develop project plans and schedules in close collaboration with the Regional Engineer;
  • Prepare and submit weekly progress reports for all ongoing projects;
  • Develop the detailed requirement for NICs and submit for approval of Regional Engineer and Chief Engineer accordingly;
  • Conduct QA , QC to ensure all implemented project components are within acceptable standards;
  • Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly and annual report for the ongoing construction works in area of operation;
  • Monitor the contractor’s works in area of responsibility, report their progress and recommend corrective actions as needed in close collaboration with the regional engineer;
  • Prepare and submit handover vouchers to FM Cell on completion of projects/ works for all engineering assets and or equipment installed as part of the project.
  • Submit monthly AUC (Asset Under Construction) report on progress to the REO and Planning and design Unit in the HQ.
  • Ensure performance management are conducted for each cycle are completed on timely manner and a constructive dialogue is maintained along the cycle.
Qualifications/Requirements Required degree level: Bachelor degree or equivalent Education - Additional Comments:

Architecture/Civil Engineering

Required experience: 36 Months Experience remark:

3 years of experience in supervision of construction projects out of which a minimum of 1 year in construction/ maintenance of camps.

Language skills:
  • English(Mandatory), Level - Fluent
  • French(Mandatory), Level - Working Knowledge
Area of expertise: Architecture and urban planning, Civil engineering and construction supervision Area of expertise details:

Excellent commands of Microsoft project, words, excel, PowerPoint, knowledge of any other project planning software is an asset.
