Background
UNDP has been present in Belarus since 1992. The organization's mandate in Belarus is determined by the Agreement between the Government of the country and UNDP of 24 September 1992, which requires UNDP to support and supplement the national efforts at solving the most important challengers of the economic development and to promote social progress and better standards of life.
The UNDP Belarus is hiring a Digital and Visual Communications Associate, who will work under the supervision and guidance of the Deputy Resident Representative. The Digital and Visual Communications Associate will lead UNDP Belarus’s digital presence and visual storytelling, managing social media, photo and video production, and project-based visibility. The role will also contribute to corporate events, campaigns, and the creation of human-interest features, ensuring that UNDP’s development results are communicated through engaging, creative, and high-impact visual content.
Duties and Responsibilities
Digital Communications and Social Media Management:
- Lead the planning, creation, and day-to-day management of UNDP Belarus social media channels, ensuring timely, strategic, and visually engaging content that strengthens UNDP’s digital presence and aligns with corporate guidelines.
- Develop and implement digital content calendars, campaign plans, and performance reports to support programme priorities, innovation activities, and advocacy efforts.
- Monitor and analyze engagement metrics to optimize audience reach, tone, and effectiveness of social media messaging.
- Coordinate with programme teams to source content, visuals, and success stories for digital dissemination.
- Ensure digital accessibility, coherence, and compliance with UNDP’s communication and branding standards.
Visual Content Production and Project Visibility:
- Plan, produce, and edit high-quality visual materials - including photos, videos, infographics, and motion graphics - to support storytelling, visibility, and donor reporting.
- Manage photo and video documentation of key missions, field visits, and project milestones, ensuring proper archiving, metadata tagging, and quality control.
- Lead the design and execution of project-level visibility initiatives in coordination with programme teams, partners, and service providers.
- Develop visual templates, banners, and branded assets for online and offline communications.
- Support the preparation of visibility packages for partners, events, and campaigns showcasing project results and human-impact stories.
Website and Digital Platforms Support:
- Support digital content development and ensure consistency across all social media platforms
- Contribute to the maintenance and regular update of UNDP Belarus’s website, ensuring engaging, up-to-date, and visually appealing content.
- Optimize web-based presentation of stories, campaigns, and photo/video galleries to enhance audience experience.
- Support implementation of corporate content management standards across all digital platforms, ensuring brand and message coherence.
Events, Campaigns, and Human-Interest Features:
- Support development and production of talking points, blogs, press releases, op-eds, and feature stories for senior management and programme teams, ensuring alignment with UNDP’s messaging, tone, and strategic priorities.
- Support development and production of high-quality, engaging content that effectively communicates UNDP’s vision, results, and impact across projects and thematic areas.
- Support the planning and execution of corporate and thematic campaigns, ensuring strong digital visibility and creative visual coverage.
- Document and promote key events, launches, and conferences through photography, live posting, and short-form videos.
- Contribute to the creation of human-interest features and multimedia stories that highlight beneficiaries and local impact.
- Provide visual and technical support to communication and innovation events, ensuring consistent branding and professional presentation.
Assist Communications Specialist/Analyst in knowledge management and dissemination:
- Compile knowledge products from programme/projects and ensure they are properly archived.
- Upload content on Internal database and website.
- Work with suppliers/vendors as and when necessary.
The incumbent performs other duties within their functional profile as deemed necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization.
Institutional arrangements
The Digital and Visual Communications Associate will work under direct supervision of the Deputy Resident Representative. The Digital and Visual Communications Associate will work in partnership with the UNDP communication team and in close coordination with the relevant programme and project teams.

Required Skills and Experience
Education:
- Secondary education is required.
- A university degree (bachelor´s degree) in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, International Relations, Marketing or related field will be given due consideration, but it is not a requirement.
Experience:
- Minimum 7 years (with secondary education) or 4 years (with bachelor´s degree) of relevant experience in communications/media relations, journalism, professional content generation, marketing, photo/video production or multimedia storytelling.
Required Skills:
- Hands-on experience managing and scheduling content across major social media platforms.
- Experience in photography and video.
Desired Skills:
- Skills of professional photo, video, and graphic editing software.
- Drafting, formulation, messaging skills, experience in writing articles/blogs/analytical papers/ talking points or other communication products.
- Good knowledge of MS Office software package and/or graphic design applications.
- Work experience in the UN system or any other foreign/international organizations.
- Hands-on experience drafting, compiling, and preparing content for visibility packages, including presentations, brochures, digital assets, banners, and branded assets.
Languages:
- Fluency in English is required.
- Fluency in Russian is required.
