Candidate age: between 18 and 29 throughout the entire duration of their assignment. Applicants must be nationals of or legal residents in the country of assignment.
Description of taskWithin the delegated authority and under the supervision of [Chief of WASH] or his designated mandated representative(s), the UNV [WASH officer] will:
- Provide technical contribution to program/project design, planning, administration, monitoring and evaluation of WASH program/project activities, needs assessments, data analysis and progress reporting, and commitment for enhancement of teamwork and capacity building, in support of achievement of planned objectives of the work plan, aligned with country program goals and strategy.
- Assist UNICEF to take the lead in the coordination of technical assistance and capacity building
- Monitoring implementation of the joint UN and Ministry of Health and Environment needs assessments, analysis and the agreed actions.
- Provision of secretariat services to the joint UN and Ministry of Health and Environment interventions.
- Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.
University degree in one of the following fields is required: public health, social sciences, behavior change communication, sanitary engineering or another relevant technical field. Additional relevant post-graduate courses that complement/supplement the main degree will be considered as an asset.
Required experience: 12 Months Experience remark:A minimum of one year working in humanitarian and/or development context with UN or Govt or NGO is required. Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages including GIS is required. Knowledge about the UN system would be an advantage
Language skills:- English(Mandatory), Level - Fluent
- Arabic(Optional), Level - Working Knowledge
Ability to adapt to changes in work environment,
Knowledge about the UN system would be an advantage
