Eligibility criteria

Candidate age: between 18 and 29 throughout the entire duration of their assignment. Nationals of the country of assignment are not eligible, except the assignments in Headquarters duty stations.

Description of task
  • Support the work of the section with research, collecting, editing, and uploading content on the UNICEF MENA Education website including: photos, videos, and voices of children;
  • Rollout and maintain the new MENA education website and content management system as part of UNICEF’s global Digital Transformation Project;
  • Support the creating of an interactive community of practice for teachers and partners within the context of UNICEF’s Life Skills and Citizenship Education (LSCE) initiative
  • Identify, edit and upload new content related to education and learning of children and young people for UNICEF social media platforms and newsletters including text, photos and videos;
  • Identify new tools and platforms to increase UNICEF’s reach, increase engagement, and expand our circle of audiences on the digital platforms;
  • Assist with the preparation, editing, fact-checking of reports and prepare social media packages for campaigns – such as the Back to School campaigns or Continuing Learning, Positive Parenting, etc;
  • Support with all social media work for education initiatives across the region;
  • Support with events, visual and visibility material for education around the region:
  • Creating initiatives from young people for young people aimed at motivating continued engagement in learning, including peer-to-peer support;
  • Documenting best practices around continued learning and improved learning outcomes.
Qualifications/Requirements Required degree level: Bachelor degree or equivalent Education - Additional Comments:

University degree in politics, social sciences (Sociology, Anthropology) or Media Communications; Master degree is an asset.

Required experience: 12 Months Experience remark:
  • One to two years of work experience in the field of communication is required;
  • Familiarity with social media platforms for business use, use of WordPress/Tumblr websites and content management systems for websites, and basic design knowledge;

  • Skills in excel, infographs, creation of websites, story writing;

  • Fluency in English and Arabic is a requirement
