Eligibility criteria

Minimum age: 25 years old. Nationals of the country of assignment are not eligible, except the assignments in Headquarters duty stations.

Description of task

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of WHO IPC Team Lead and HWF Team lead or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UN Volunteer Information Manager Officer will:

Define and operationalize IPC Information system architecture and processes to facilitate access to IPC Information

  • Sharing between the AFRO IPC Team and CO IPC Focal points
  • Manage access to the systems
  • Integration of the MS Team, Sharepoint, Click-up

IPC AFRO File management and Operations

  • Facilitates the integration of new IPC Team members
    • Briefing on the system operations
    • Support system access – and interfacing with IT Helpdesk
  • IPC file management
    • IPC Tracking files
    • IPC project files
  • Logistic Support IPC Virtual Meeting
    • Meeting Booking
    • Coordination of the document translation
    • Management and projection of the presentation

IPC Health Data – Tools Design and data management

  • Design and maintenance of the Data collecting tool (Kobo+Dashboard)
  • System documentation of the systems (System administrators and User’s guide)

IPC/HWF Coordination Monitoring

  • Meeting Minutes
  • Workplan management
  • Monitor the HWF infection in countries and the impact on the continuity of the essential health services
  • Support the documentation of the HWF interventions in the context COVID-19 response and other health emergencies /outbreaks
  • Document initiatives as such as repurposing, task shifting/sharing, re-distribution of health workers
  • Monitor the number and profile of the health workers that are fully or partially involved in emergencies /outbreaks including the requirements for their safety and security
  • Support the development and maintenance of the HWF website hosted on Africa health observatory (AHO) Support countries in implementing occupational safety measures and mechanisms for health workers
  • Contribute to the Continuity of essential services (HSC) Pillar activities in context of COVID-19
Qualifications/Requirements Required degree level: Master degree or equivalent Education - Additional Comments:

Master Degree-level qualification or equivalent. Preferably, the degree should be in a relevant field or discipline such as public health, information technology, information systems, although experience can replace qualifications.

Required experience: 60 Months Experience remark:

Essential: Related experience in managing resources and working effectively in a multi-stakeholder international environment including developing and promoting collaborative actions with national authorities.

Desirable: Previous experience with WHO, in UN organizations/agencies, international institutions, health cluster partners, humanitarian organizations or nongovernmental organizations, particularly in developing countries.

Language skills:
