Description of task

Sous la supervision directe du Gestionnaire de la Flotte des Camions du PAM le/la Jeune Volontaire des Nations Unies effectuera les tâches suivantes :

General description:

Responsible for the Workshop Management and oversight of all WFP fleet assets in Haiti; and co-ordinate these activities in accordance to the Procedures, Normative Guidelines and Business Rules as set by WFP.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

Under the direct supervision of the Fleet Manager and in co-ordination with all Fleet staff, the incumbent shall perform the following duties:

  1. Carry out Scheduled Maintenance & Repair, Overhaul, Reconditioning, Modifications, in a most efficient manner with the ultimate objective to ensure that all vehicles are maintained to a high standard and roadworthy condition.
  2. Responsible to oversee the Materials Management aspect of the operation and in particular the controlling, justification and issuance of Spare Parts, tyres, lubricants & Consumable Materials.
  3. Responsible for forecasting and requisitioning of spare parts: Preparation of orders for spare parts / tires and materials required for the operation.
  4. Carefully record and maintain an Inventory list of all Tools & Workshop Equipment.
  5. Provide oversight and supervision to all staff and ensure that the work is carried out to a satisfactory standard as required by the Organisation; including strict time-keeping and completion of timesheets.
  6. Involved in the control and cost effectiveness of the vehicles and prepare recommendations for write-offs, where necessary.
  7. Investigate means to constantly reduce the operational costs of the Fleet pertaining to maintenance activities.
  8. Responsible for the management of tyres which include maintenance practices, controlling mechanisms and performance monitoring.
  9. Ensure that proper Workshop Administration, record keeping & vehicle History Records are well maintained via the Fleet Management System.
  10. Ensure that timely accurate data is entered into the FMS for the Repairs.
  11. Responsible to Manage and ensure that all reports and information as required by the Organisation are produced promptly on a timely basis via FMS. Additionally analyze information and quality of reports prior to distribution.
  12. Responsible for the Management of Oil & Lubricants ensuring that the quality / quantities of the supply of lubricants are in accordance to standards set.
  13. Implement Best Practices established and ensure that KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) are maintained with parameters set.
  14. Ensure that minimum Health and Safety requirements are met in full, together with considerations for environmental needs.
  15. Responsible to ensure that all staff (Persons Reporting) carries out their duties in accordance to their Job Descriptions set.
  16. Continuously collect and collate valuable data or information relating to improvements required for Standardisation and Development purposes for Fleet Management and communicate this information to other staff in the Fleet Section.
  17. Share experiences gained with other staff members and strive towards creating good team building and harmonious atmosphere.
  18. Travel occasionally, as required by the Organisation.
  19. Will perform any other duties as requested by immediate Supervisor.

En plus de ce qui précède, les Volontaires des Nations Unies sont censés :

  • Renforcer leurs connaissances et compréhension du concept du volontariat en lisant la documentation mise à disposition par le programme VNU, les publications externes et prendre activement part aux activités du programme VNU, par exemple s’impliquer dans les activités commémoratives de la Journée internationale des Volontaires (JIV), le 5 décembre.
  • Se familiariser et développer toute forme de volontariat traditionnel et/ou local au niveau du pays d’accueil.
  • Refléter le type et la nature des actions volontaires qu’ils entreprennent, y compris leur participation dans les réflexions substantielles.
  • Contribuer à la rédaction des articles sur les expériences de terrain à soumettre pour la publication du programme VNU/ site web, bulletin et notes de presse, etc.
  • Contribuer au Programme d’accueil des Volontaires des Nations Unies nouvellement arrivés dans le pays d’affectation ;
  • Promouvoir ou conseiller les groupes locaux dans l’utilisation des volontaires en ligne ou encourager les individus et les organisations à utiliser les services de volontaires en ligne quand cela est techniquement possible.

Domaine de qualification(s): Logistique / mécanique / gestion

Expérience requise: 5 ans d’expérience dans le domaine de gestion de garage et mécanique générale

Required experience: 60 Months Language skills:
