Background:
The IRC is an international non-profit that responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises, helping people survive and rebuild their lives, leading the way from harm to home. Since the Boise office opened in 2006, IRC Boise has resettled over 3,600 refugees and asylees, and provided aid to the broader Boise community.
Scope of work:
The IRC Boise’s Development Department ensures that Boise office has the resources necessary for the effective operation of programs. Development responsibilities include fundraising (grant writing, annual appeals, events), the acquisition and distribution of donated goods, volunteer programs, advocacy, and communications.
Project Description:
The Development Intern will assist the Development Department with various projects to ensure the acquisition and distribution of resources to help refugee and immigrant families in Boise thrive. These projects may include obtaining financial and in-kind resources, assisting with the planning and implementation of fundraising and engagement events, donor stewardship and acknowledgements, donor and volunteer reporting data entry, and assisting with advocacy research and projects.
Essential Position Functions:
Grant writing and research
Salesforce data entry
Managing event invites and RSVP’s, managing online event platforms and logistics
Research and draft bios, pending legislation
Assist with social media communications and management
